I’ve grown up around cats and have spent 40+ years understanding their individual personalities, routines, and boundaries.

From playful kittens to independent adults and senior cats, I provide patient, low-stress care for cautious cats, helping them feel safe and settled while you are away.

Two of my own cats lived to be 20 years old, giving me extensive experience with long-term adult and senior cat care, along with lots of kitten care.

As a cat sitter, my strengths include:

• Being especially comfortable with cautious shy or “fussy” cats. Cats are often drawn to me because I am calm. I let trust develop naturally – never rushed.

• First aid certified, prioritizing safety, routine, and emotional well-being.

• Following instructions carefully, observing closely, and communicating clearly, so you always feel confident about your cat’s care.

• Available most weekends and holidays, making me a reliable option when you need coverage most.

Your cat’s comfort comes first – always.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

When choosing a cat sitter, I always encourage cat parents to look beyond availability and focus on temperament, experience, and attentiveness. Cats are highly sensitive to changes in routine and environment, so it’s important to hire someone who understands feline behavior and respects individual boundaries. A thoughtful sitter should be patient, observant, and comfortable, caring for cats at all life stages – from kittens to seniors. Feel free to ask potential cat sitters about their own cats. Have they ever had a cat that was grouchy toward other people? Have they ever rescued a cat? These questions highlight what skills your cat sitter brings. Clear communication is essential, as is a willingness to follow your instructions carefully rather than taking shortcuts. Trust your instincts during the meet and greet. The right sitter will make you feel heard and confident, and your cat will sense that calm presence brings

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

My multi-step process begins with learning about the cat as an individual. I take time to understand their personality, routine, feeding, preferences, litter, habits, and any medical or behavioral considerations. During a meet and greet, I review all care instructions with the parents while allowing the cat to approach me on their own terms, creating a low stress introduction. They may be cautious and just barely enter the room where I am, or they may come close, check me out and decide I’m safe. Once care begins, I follow the cat’s established routine closely, observing behavior, appetite, and overall well-being during each visit. I provide calm, attentive care and adjust my approach based on the cat’s comfort level. I also communicate clearly and consistently so cat parents feel informed and confident while they’re away.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Ensuring safety and security is a top priority in every visit. I am first aid certified and take a proactive, detail oriented approach to cat care. I check food, water, litter and general health at every visit, watching closely for subtle changes in behavior or routine that may indicate stress or discomfort. I follow all instructions, precisely, including medication administration if required in the home, I secure doors and windows, maintain a tidy environment, and respect the homeowner’s space completely. My goal is to create a calm, stable atmosphere where their cat feels safe and cared for and where pet parents can travel with complete peace of mind.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Typically I am available during holidays. My calendar will accurately reflect any times I am not available over the holidays.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Colorado Springs cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
