I grew up with them and early on made it my mission to understand how to communicate with them in their language. I make kitty friends wherever I go! I was also a vet tech for 15 years so I’m very comfortable administering meds in as least stressful way as possible. I’m happy to learn their routines, likes and dislikes so I can help them feel happy and comfortable while you are away. I look forward to taking caring for your furry family members like they where my own!

Learn More About Julie

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love meeting new kitties and giving pet parents piece of mind that their fluffy family members are well cared for while they are away. It’s especially rewarding when shy kitties decide to interact and maybe even become friends!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Ideally I’d love to do a meet and greet so the kitty can meet/see/smell/hear me with their familiar people around. If not possible a phone appointment is ok. I like to know routines, favorite toys, how they like food prepared and anything else pet parents feel is important for their kitty to feel comfortable while they are away.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

My formerly feral kitty taught me the importance of body language and letting the cat come to you on their own terms. I acknowledge them with friendly kitty vocalizations and slow blinks as well as getting down on their level. I do not try to pet or handle them right away and minimize direct eye contact. If they are food motivated sometimes pet parent approved treats help as well.

Happy pets and no stress when Julie is on the job. You'll want to take more trips and vacations after having Julie as your cat sitter. =) Julie is highly intuitive around animals of all species and has extensive knowledge and work experience in the veterinary field (both large and small animals). She is a skilled animal handler and excels in reading animal body language, triaging situations, client communication, and team collaboration, just to name a few. Julie loves learning and keeping up on current animal industry research and happily adjusts her approach when needed. She has the best energy - animals and people are drawn to her. Julie is trustworthy, reliable, dependable, and genuinely loves animals. She the only person I trust to stay in my home and take care of my pets when I'm away.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Colorado Springs cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
