Cat Sitting in Denver, CO

Hi! I’m Melissa, a lifelong cat lover who understands that inviting someone into your home to care for your pets requires a lot of trust. I believe great cat sitting is much more than just food and litter boxes - it’s about keeping your cats comfortable, maintaining their routines, noticing the little things, and giving you genuine peace of mind while you’re away.

Whether your cat is outgoing and playful, or shy and prefers quiet companionship, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I provide detailed updates, plenty of photos, and attentive care not only for your pets but also for your home...

I provide detailed updates, plenty of photos, and attentive care not only for your pets but also for your home.

āœ”ļø Experience administering medications, inhalers, shots
āœ”ļø Experience with special needs cats; Respect for shy, senior, or anxious cats (humans too!)
āœ”ļø Experience with former strays and fearful cats
āœ”ļø Ability to follow routines exactly as requested
āœ”ļø Reliable, communicative, very detail-oriented

As a cat parent myself, I understand just how much trust it takes to leave your beloved pets in someone else’s care.

I choose to cat sit because spending time with cats genuinely brings me joy. My goal is simple: I want you to return home to happy cats, a well-cared-for space, and the confidence that everything was handled with kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care.

Please feel free to message me with any scheduling questions or special requests. I do my best to be flexible and can often accommodate visits outside of my listed availability.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Every cat (and pet parent!) is different, so I like to start with a meet-and-greet when convenient. This gives us a chance to get to know each other, discuss your cat’s routines / preferences, review any medications or special needs, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before the sitting begins. Leading up to your trip, I encourage open communication and am happy to answer questions or clarify details. During the sitting, I’ll provide regular updates and plenty of photos so you can relax knowing your cat is happy and well cared for. I also make note of important details like appetite, litter box habits, and behavior changes, so I can keep you informed if anything seems out of the ordinary. My goal is to provide dependable, attentive care that allows you to enjoy your time away with peace of mind and to make the experience as stress-free as possible.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Rainbow snake wand toy! Every cat I’ve lived with has had one at some point, and it’s been a hit more often than not. Gator, our current cat, remains unconvinced and would like everyone to know that lasers are far superior.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I approach timid or anxious cats with a lot of patience and respect for their individual comfort levels, and I’m always extremely attentive to body language. I let them set the pace of our interactions, try to maintain their established routines, and focus on creating a calm, quiet, predictable environment. Building trust can take time, and my priority is always helping cats feel safe and secure while their families are away. For me, success isn’t about making every cat love me or sit in my lap - it’s more about reducing stress as much as possible and helping make kitty feel safe!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Denver cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
