What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting through Meowtel for over two years and it’s really been one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’ve met so many wonderful cat parents and so many kitties who I’ve bonded with over the years! Truly am blessed to be able to provide this service :) Before meowtel I was the designated friend and family memeber to pet sit!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I truly enjoy bonding with the kitties. I really do try to provide them with fun and activities and love while their parents are away. Animals are so precious to us they don’t judge (well maybe a little lol but who knows for sure) they don’t discriminate and they have no evil in their heart. They are pure beings who deserve to be respected and cared for.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I now have two beautiful cats! A gorgeous tortie with lots of tortitude I named her Lucy, she is going to turn 13 soon 🥲we have basically grown old together. She is the brightest light in my times of darkness, a real companion for life and she’ll talk my ears off. My other kitty is named Luca. He is a 7 month old orange cat 🐈 you can see his fluffy tail before the rest of his body 😂 he is so playful and super food motivated. He keeps me on my toes! He is definitely more of an independent cat who doesn’t like to be held so when he comes to us wanting affection I drop it all and give him his pets!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

My advice is to find a sitter that fits your cats schedule and routine the best. When you’re away it might cause some anxiety for your kitties and it’s important to kind of keep the routine as similar as possible especially when they are long trips. Never feel bad for changing your mind, after all its about the cats!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I try to always be aware of my surroundings when entering and exiting a home. Especially if cats are the dashing type, throwing/hiding treats usually helps distract them. Certain toys should be put away if they pose a risk of a choking hazard. I always make sure doors are locked all the way. Extra steps give me peace of mind.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Wand toys are definitely my favorite. Cats love them! I always have fun playing with them with those because it really does get them in their hunt mode. It’s a wonderful way to release some energy from being cooped up all day. I love it when they do the wiggle right before the pounce ☺️

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

It’s all about respecting their boundaries. I’ll sit on the floor and speak softly to them and just wait for them to come explore. I’ll extend my hand and just let THEM decide if they want pets or not. I would never recommend aggressively pursuing a timid cat, that’s a sure way to not gain their trust. Usually it just takes time :)

My six cat’s are my babies and I was a little nervous to go out of town leaving them with a cat sitter. Luckily, Abi is not just a cat sitter. Now, she’s part of the family. I got texts and photos everyday detailing their time together. She truly cared for my cats as if they were hers. I am definitely using her again. Thanks to Abi, I was able to enjoy my time away from home instead of worrying the entire trip. ❤️❤️❤️

Abi was absolutely amazing with my kitties! She took great care of them while I was away and sent the best picture updates, I felt at peace knowing they were having so much fun at home! Abi was very friendly and thorough during her visits and I’m so thankful my little angels got to be happy and comfortable at home getting everything they needed while we were out of town. Abi is amazing!!! 😭😭😭She is the sweetest, and went above and beyond for my baby boy Bubzzz! She gave him treats and lots of love! She even left some treats behind for him to enjoy later and cleaned his food and water dish for him! Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Denver cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
