What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting for 5 years now, for friends cats to start and now I’ve been with Meowtel for a little over 8 months.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love building a relationship with the cats. With cats, I know I have to let them come to me, so I put in time and patience getting to know their preferences. The small moments when the cats start to feel comfortable with me are the most satisfying.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My chonks are named Bun Bun and Butter! They’re lazy and chill, but when the cat feeder goes off, suddenly they’re world class sprinters 🤣

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Typically I will reach out first to get to know the parent and ask about their cat/cats. I’ll ask about any allergies or medication they need to take. I’ll ask about access to the home as well.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is a twist tie tied to a stick with fishing line. Even the laziest cat goes crazy for this makeshift toy.

Our kitty is not too keen to strangers and has a hard time with cat boarding. We were anxious to leave Cassie for over a week, but Xiao relieved all our anxiety! She is super communicative, multiple photos and videos were sent daily. + Asked questions when needed. She is super sweet! Our cat sensed that and LOVED her! every photo that was sent, her tail was pointed up and she was super playful. Plus she left extra bowls of water out without being asked. Xiao is wonderful and we couldn’t have put Cassie in better hands ☺️

She spent quality time playing with our cats and giving them treats and just making sure they had good company whilst we were away for the weekend. Xiao was very responsive and communicative, and my kitty had a great time with her! She also cleaned the feeder, litter box, etc. very well. I received photo and video updates everyday while I was away so I knew she was in good hands :) would definitely have Xiao watch my cat in the future!!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
