Cat Sitting in Washington, DC

I’ve had 3 cats of my own, 2 currently. All oranges so far. First adoption was in 2012 and Mochi is still with me at 17 years old 🧡
Mochi needs oral and topical medicines every day, so I’m used to senior cat care.

I worked at the Crumbs and Whiskers cat cafe for 2 years, so I’m very good at forming relationships with new cats of all ages (like yours!). I know a bunch of DIY enrichment...

I worked at the Crumbs and Whiskers cat cafe for 2 years, so I’m very good at forming relationships with new cats of all ages (like yours!). I know a bunch of DIY enrichment activities too, so your house-monster will have loads of fun til you get home.

I offer reliability, open communication, and peace of mind. Want to meet me first? Absolutely. Want pictures of your mini-panther while you are away? I got you! Want me to watch out for and report any signs of a health issue? Sure thing!

I will treat your keet like family👍 I love these little goblins so much!

Learn More About Matt

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

2 things: #1 - Learning the little quirks of their personalities as they become comfortable around me. #2 - I love the feeling of trust when a cat opens up to me because they feel safe.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Mochi, 17 years old - domestic short hair, orange by color and by personality. A delightfully grumbly little sir. Thomas Tofu, 6 years old - buff/cream colored little baby who thrives on belly pets and treats.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I get them used to my scent by offering an article of clothing as the first contact I make on each visit. I also spend time near them but not interacting with them so they understand I’m not a threat. Finally, I’m not above treat-based bribery.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Washington cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
