What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I love most about kitties is how snuggly and loving they are. They have this calm, comforting presence that makes you feel relaxed. For example, when I was doing homework, they’d just curl up right beside me, and we’d quietly hang out together. I love that balance of independence and affection—they’re low-key but still so loving, and being around them just feels cozy and comforting.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I’ve had two kitties, Smokey and Baby, though unfortunately they’ve both passed away. I had Baby from around the time I was born until I was about 13, and Smokey I had from birth as well until fairly recently, within the past year. I’ve basically had cats in my life my entire life, so I’ve grown up learning how to care for them, love them, and understand their personalities. Losing them was hard, but it also made me even more passionate about giving cats care, attention, and a safe, loving environment.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When I encounter cats that are timid or anxious, I approach them gently and slowly, offering my hand so they can sniff me and get a sense of my presence. If they’re not ready for petting, I’ll simply sit nearby and let them get used to me at their own pace. I never force interaction, but I stay within their space so they know I’m not a threat. Most of the time, this patience and calm presence encourages them to come to me on their own, building trust naturally over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
