I’ve lived with several cats through the years and am very comfortable with all kinds of health conditions, administering medications, and caring for cats of all ages.
I have pet sat for friends, family, coworkers, and teammates through the years and love to meet new feline friends... Hi there, I’m Briggs! I’ve only got two hands and a too many kitties out there to pet :) I’m a cat dad to Phoebe (5) and absolutely adore cats.
I’ve lived with several cats through the years and am very comfortable with all kinds of health conditions, administering medications, and caring for cats of all ages.
I have pet sat for friends, family, coworkers, and teammates through the years and love to meet new feline friends. I think of cats as tiny people and try to approach them with the respect they deserve - I wouldn’t want to be touched out of nowhere by a stranger either! I like to give them space to approach on their terms and allow them to set the pace of our interactions. Cats thrive on routine, so I really try to work around what helps them feel comfortable and happy.
I have a photo album on my phone dedicated to cats, so rest assured you will be getting plenty of photographical updates. I’m happy to do meet & greets, whatever helps you and your cats feel comfortable.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love meeting new cats! They each have their own quirks, oddities, and silly behaviors that I love to get to know. Every cat has such a unique personality, I’ve never met one cat that’s quite like another. Earning a cat’s trust and affection is one of the most rewarding feelings since it requires an abundance of patience.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have my sweet Phoebe. I got her in college, she wandered into a nearby garage as a pregnant stray and had 6 kittens (which is crazy since she’s 7 pounds - how’d they all fit in there??). She is my lap warmer, remote coworker, and nap time companion. She suffers from dental issues and bladder stones, so it gives me a great deal of pride that I work as hard as I do so she can be as well taken care of as possible.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I let them have their space; I will leave an item of clothing or a blanket that has my scent on it near them so that they can get used to it before coming out. I will leave some treats (with your permission, of course) to let them know it’s safe to eat around me, a situation many cats can feel vulnerable in. I’ll hang out and do work/read/do something else in or around the room they may hide in so they know I’m not a threat, just another human.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Jacksonville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $23.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
