I have about three decades of cat care experience. My background and education is in the biology and management of zoo animals... I'm Sean. I have a pet boarding/ walking business. I purposely don't board cats because of the stress they would endure being in a house with dogs. I really do like cats though, and miss getting to interact with them. I think visiting a cat in its own home is the best possible option to keep stress at a minimum, which brings me here.
I have about three decades of cat care experience. My background and education is in the biology and management of zoo animals. Specifically, my feline experience covers large cats such as Bobcats, Panthers, Cheetahs and tigers.
Most felines share many of the same personality traits despite displaying a wide range of physical size. Most cats love empty boxes, whether you're 10 pounds or 250.
By hiring me as your cat's sitter you can trust that I have the animal's best interests at heart and that I will treat them with the utmost care, respect and integrity.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I ensure the safety of the cats and the home by identifying escape routes from the home as soon as possible. Open doors or windows that could lead to escapes are a high alert prioritization to me. I also begin each visit by getting eyes on the cat and visually confirming their health and wellbeing. I don't want to just change litter or put out new food without confirming the cat is alright.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am available during most major holidays and can be booked quickly. I'm aware of the often last-minute nature of life and how stressful it can be to try to find a sitter quickly.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My method for handling timid or anxious cats is to be very soft and respectful when I enter the house. Using my cell, I turn on some soft music while I work, so if the cat is hiding, they'll know where I am for the duration of my visit. This can help to reduce the overall amount of stress they experience. I NEVER pursue an anxious cat that has fled the room, but always allow them to make the first move towards me.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Jacksonville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
