What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting on and off for many years, well over 20. I also have my own senior kitty who gives me lots of practice in special care.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I am a cat lover and owner; my own concerns with finding quality reliable care sparked my decision to become a sitter myself. I really enjoy getting to know the cats and building a trusting relationship.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite reservation was with a particularly shy kitty, it was a long stay of 3 weeks. It was a solid 2.5 weeks of trying, but she finally decided we could be friends, and now she always runs to greet me every time I visit with her.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have a very special senior kitty, Hermione. She is a small Siamese and still thinks she is a kitten!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I always recommend a meet and greet to ensure your fur baby and sitter are a good fit! Setting clear expectations ensures a great experience for everyone as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

It is important to get to know the cat I will be caring for. I always require a meet and greet to go over care and gather an understanding of the cat’s environment and routine to keep things as similar as possible. I find this goes a long way with cats feeling more comfortable with me.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Safety and security is of upmost importance when I am cat sitting. I take special precautions to avoid any escapees, as well as ensuring their environment is clean and safe at every visit. This includes making sure doors are kept closed or opened as specified, ensuring litter and food areas are clean, and making sure to lay eyes on all of my clients, even the very shy ones!

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am available on short notice and for most holidays, since I only work within Celebration I have a lot of flexibility for your scheduling needs.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I love working with shy and anxious kitties! A lot of cats just need some quiet patience and I often find I am able to make friends with cats that are known to only ever hide during visits.
