i’m a professional pet sitter and have been for a few years (since 2019)... when kitties come to you, it’s a true honor and privilege. i have a few cat clients currently, one in a cone for skin condition reasons and one with asthma, both with special care needs. whether a fur baby needs an inhaler or extra playtime, i’m always at their service. the cats are in charge!! we just live to do their bidding 🤷🏻♀️
i’m a professional pet sitter and have been for a few years (since 2019). i am deeply cautious with other people’s pets and do my best to find out the potential risks involved with care instructions or with entrances & exits at a client’s home so no escape artists get out on my watch. i also have great patience when it comes to rescued pets, who sometimes need extra time getting to know somebody before relaxing around them.
and for a weird flex: i’m vegan, so not only can you trust me to not kick your fur kids (it happened to a client of mine 😤) but i also wont steal your food lol! but if you leave some dark chocolate snacks out for me i WILL come scratching at your back door… 😹 jk jk

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
have a clear idea of what you want first. answer these questions to yourself so you know how to eliminate potential sitters: - how long do i want a sitter to stay with my cat(s)? - how many times a day would my cats enjoy receiving human attention — more than just a “scoop & poop” (food & litter service)? - does the sitter (who is a surrogate parent to my pets while i’m gone) fit with my/the family’s vibe? - what is a weird situation that is unique to me and my pets/neighborhood/house that my sitter might have to deal with? that last question is meant to prep you for a meet & greet so you can ask potential sitters how they would handle the situation. their answer might be a game changer!

yes, i’m available during the holidays. i dont usually treat holidays like vacations since i make my own schedule and my family is close by.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
i have a lot of respect for anxious & shy cats. some are discerning, and some are just scaredy-cats — literally. in either case, i always let cats come to me and don’t try to force the connection. if my client gives the OK, i will offer treats or wiggle their favorite toy to try to engage. ultimately, i read their energy and dont consider myself in charge — the cats are in charge, and my job is to give them the space to tell me in their own way how they would like to be treated.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
