During the first visit, I move slowly and observe your cat’s behavior so I can adapt to their comfort level right away. I follow your routine exactly to keep things feeling familiar and stress-free for them. Throughout the booking, I provide consistent updates with photos and notes about eating, litter box use, behavior, and overall well-being so you always feel connected and informed. My goal is to make the entire experience feel easy for you and calm, safe, and predictable for your cat.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Safety is always my top priority for both your cat and your home. When I arrive, I’m very mindful about doors, gates, and entry points to prevent any chance of a curious kitty slipping out. I’m careful with how I enter and exit, and I always do a quick visual check to make sure your cat is safely accounted for before leaving. I keep their environment calm, clean, and consistent by following your care instructions exactly as written. I monitor food, water, litter box habits, and overall behavior during every visit so I can quickly notice if anything seems off. I’m also respectful of your home — bringing in packages if needed, keeping things tidy, and ensuring everything is secure before I leave. You’ll receive clear updates and photos so you always know your cat is safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Timid cats are actually some of my favorites to care for because they just need patience, calm energy, and respect for their space. I never force interaction. I enter the home quietly, move slowly, and allow the cat to observe me first. I pay close attention to their body language and let them set the pace. If they prefer to hide, that’s perfectly okay — I make sure they feel safe while still ensuring they’re eating, drinking, and using the litter box normally. I often sit on the floor and speak softly so they can get used to my presence without feeling threatened. Many shy cats will slowly grow curious when they realize I’m not there to invade their space. My goal is not to “win them over,” but to make them feel comfortable, secure, and stress-free while you’re away.
