I have been pet sitting on a part time basis for eight years. 15 months ago, I left my Full time Corporate accounting position and was fortunate to turn my PT pet sitting passion into a FT basis. I now am blessed to spend my days working with animals full time and love every day! In addition to working, I also spend time with rescue animals. I volunteer with Clay County Animal Services (CCAS), CJ Acres Animal rescue farm, and John Nelsen Moosedog rescue fund (JNMRF.org) a national Norwegian Elkhound rescue. I will treat you pet like family.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been pet sitting for eight years. The first seven of which was part-time in the last year has been full-time. I have cared for one cat household to up to 7 cat households. Most of the cats I have cared for have been adult adults, but occasionally younger kittens.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love how playful kitties can be… I can watch them for hours seeing their entertained with just a little red light or chasing a ball. But having a cat come and purr near you and ask for petting them is one of the best feelings.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Typically, I will text or call the cat parent. This allows them to ask some initial preliminary questions or concerns they may have. Go over some of the basics and then try to set up a meet and greet. At the meet and greet, we go over things like first aid kit, Vet information, feeding instructions, medications, emergency point of contact, and entrance into an out of the home. We also talk about behaviors of the resident cats and what they are looking for in a sitter. I will usually take notes, but I also do ask that they write down anything of importance to ensure their care is seamless. The more information they can provide the more successful the city will be.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
