What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve taken care of cats all my life, but I’ve been pet sitting others’ cats for about 7 years. I started out by watching a coworker’s cats when they went on vacation. I ended up with a few clients through word of mouth. Then I ended up joining another sitting service as a side gig while I worked in corporate, but I absolutely loved pet sitting. I quit corporate about six months ago to pursue pet sitting full time. I started my own business, got business insurance and some formal training and certifications. I’ve taken care of many cats over the years and while I watch all animals, cats are my preferred clients. I’ve taken care of friendly cats, shy cats, feral cats, and special needs and elderly cats. I have given cats oral medicine, and have injected fluids. I’m also a volunteer at Friends of Strays cat shelter!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have three kitties, all rescues. I have Allura, who was a pregnant stray I took in, her former kitten (now adult), Ares, and a former stray I rescued named Athena. My roommate also has two cats, they are named Oliver and Mimi.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would ALWAYS recommend a meet and greet before hiring a sitter. Someone might be good with dogs, but not cats. Or someone might be good with cats, but they aren’t reliable. It’s important to built trust with cats AND be a reliable sitter, and that combo can be hard to find. The customer should watch how the sitter interacts with the cat. The sitter should allow the cat to come to them on their own terms whenever possible (sometimes this may not be possible for ones who are extremely shy but need meds). They should never be loud, have quick, sudden movements, or aggressively force the kitties into interactions.

After making my reservation online, Autumn reached out to schedule a meet and greet with my girls. She dropped by, got familiar with all of the cats and I could tell immediately that my babies were going to be in good hands, as they took to her instantly. The pics that she sent me to me while I was away showed me some very happy kitties and I was reassured that they were being as spoiled by Autumn as they are when I'm at home. She was amazing and I will never stress about leaving my cats again, as long as I know Autumn will be babysitting.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
