For my clients, I require a complimentary meet and greet, before visiting them alone... I’m Autumn, the owner of a ofessional petsitting company in St. Petersburg FL. I am licensed, insured, and certified in pet first aid and CPR. I’m a proud cat parent of three, and I’ve taken care of all types of animals my entire life. I’ve even taken care of great apes and other exotics! While I do Petsit for all types of animals, I absolutely LOVE cats and they are my preferred pet to take care of ❤️
I’m also a volunteer at Friends of Strays shelter, specifically working with the adoptable and special-needs cats. I’m also working on obtaining my FearFree certification!
For my clients, I require a complimentary meet and greet, before visiting them alone. I will ask for home access details, feeding routines, and about any behavioral or medical needs. I require a meet and greet BEFORE confirming your booking to make sure we are a good match. If I don’t hear back from you within 12 hours, I will decline the booking.
I always allow cats to come to me on their own terms. I never force my presence on a kitty (or any animal!). I’ve had plenty of experience with shy, special needs, and even feral kitties. I’m comfortable administering medicine. For injections or less “common” medicines/methods, I would ask you to show me how you do it, but I’m comfortable learning.
Lastly, I’m quite talented at pet photography 😉 when you book with me, you’ll likely receive some high quality, beautiful photos of your fur baby 🥰

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve taken care of cats all my life, but I’ve been pet sitting others’ cats for about 7 years. I started out by watching a coworker’s cats when they went on vacation. I ended up with a few clients through word of mouth. Then I ended up joining another sitting service as a side gig while I worked in corporate, but I absolutely loved pet sitting. I quit corporate about six months ago to pursue pet sitting full time. I started my own business, got business insurance and some formal training and certifications. I’ve taken care of many cats over the years and while I watch all animals, cats are my preferred clients. I’ve taken care of friendly cats, shy cats, feral cats, and special needs and elderly cats. I have given cats oral medicine, and have injected fluids. I’m also a volunteer at Friends of Strays cat shelter!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three kitties, all rescues. I have Allura, who was a pregnant stray I took in, her former kitten (now adult), Ares, and a former stray I rescued named Athena. My roommate also has two cats, they are named Oliver and Mimi.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I would ALWAYS recommend a meet and greet before hiring a sitter. Someone might be good with dogs, but not cats. Or someone might be good with cats, but they aren’t reliable. It’s important to built trust with cats AND be a reliable sitter, and that combo can be hard to find. The customer should watch how the sitter interacts with the cat. The sitter should allow the cat to come to them on their own terms whenever possible (sometimes this may not be possible for ones who are extremely shy but need meds). They should never be loud, have quick, sudden movements, or aggressively force the kitties into interactions.

She dropped by, got familiar with all of the cats and I could tell immediately that my babies were going to be in good hands, as they took to her instantly. The pics that she sent me to me while I was away showed me some very happy kitties and I was reassured that they were being as spoiled by Autumn as they are when I'm at home. She was amazing and I will never stress about leaving my cats again, as long as I know Autumn will be babysitting.

I’m VERY choosy when it comes to watching my cat Monkey. I’ve been having a lot of trouble since my last sitter retired. Autumn did everything I wanted—ensured we had plenty of pictures, made sure his box was clean and his food/water dishes were always full. She’s now my go-to, especially since Monkey loves her!

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Saint Petersburg cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
