What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been a cat mom for almost 9 years now, after being only a dog mom most of my life. Now I'm a total crazy cat lady! I have 11 kitties at home due to my TNR work. Clearly my toxic trait is that I think every kitty deserves a great home. I have been "officially" cat sitting for others for about a year now, and I LOVE IT!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I loooove getting to see kitty’s personalities shine through! I’ve had some shy kitties and having patience & building trust is key — so it’s always super rewarding when they start playing with toys or allowing a pet or cuddle! I’m totally ok with boundaries each kitty has. My favorite is really just getting to know what each individual kitty is all about.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
Noella was my first cat sitting reservation on Meowtel and although she was a super shy kitty, it was such a pleasure knowing that I was there to offer her companionship and love should she decide to come out and play! We have a future visit coming up and I'm looking forward to continuing to build trust!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yessss! I'm what you'd say is a "crazy cat lady" - I have 11 at home! LOL. I also care for a couple of community cat colonies and I love all my crews. My pet sitting clients become like family also.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I will state the obvious — make sure they are a cat LOVER! Even “grumpy” cats deserve love too!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
It's important for me to hear from the paw-rent of important info about their kitty — ie: what they like, don’t like, routines they try to stick to, play style, purrsonality, etc. My biggest goal is to make kitty feel the least disruption to their daily routines and in turn they will also feel comfortable with me.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
In my own home I am mindful of making sure no kitties bolt out of doors when opening. That’s definitely a safety measure that can often get overlooked. Inside the home I try to think of it as “baby proofing” spaces. Also, not letting anyone else into house, etc. I care for my safety as much as the safety of kitties as well.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Availability will vary for holidays depending if I need to travel.
What is your favorite cat toy?
You really can’t go wrong with a wand! I will say that my local Petsmart clearance toys or BOGO deals get me every time! LOL. I can also DIY toys out of empty toilet paper rolls! Sometimes simplicity can really be best!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Patience is a virtue! I just sit on the floor and really let them go at their own pace. My energy would let them know I’m not a threat. No forced touching or forced interactions. Kitties know the vibes and will come to you when they're ready.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Stone Mountain cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
