What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have 20 years of cat sitting I've had cats my whole life since I was 5 years old to now.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love taking care of others fur kitties. I love cats. Cats are my spiritual animal. I know cat language very well.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three kitties, when his name Chloe she's a tabby she only has one eye so she came to me as a special needs Kitty now she is four and extremely active and happy. My second Kitty is named Zoe she is black she is 3 years old and she is full of energy she follows me all over the place she is my little panther. My third Kitty is named Gizmo he was abandoned by his owner so I took him and he is my little fluffy shadow he goes everywhere with me he always follows me around I love him to death I love all my kitties and my cats even know how to fetch.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Be sure that the sitter has a good demeanor and a gentle hand. Cats can pick up on people who are not cat people that's the best way I can say it,they know. So your best instinct is to go with how is your cat reacting to that person that you want to hire as a cat sitter.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes I'm definitely available during holidays. My husband hates this but I love to put little holiday hats or sweaters on my cats yes I am a holidays nerd LOL.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Anything on a stick or tin foil made in to a ball. Or a toy filled with catnip but mainly like a feather on a stick I know my cat's with those last like 2 seconds.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
What I like to do is get down on their level I mean literally down on their level so they don't feel threatened and then it's kind of hard to explain but I get the demeanor of a safe environment and nothing will hurt them if they don't know me I'm usually pretty good you know helping kitties break out of the anxious timidness and get them to play I know it does take some time but I've been pretty successful at that.

Kara has a long histroy of passion for animals, especially cats. She has helped veterinarians with prepping and assistance in recovery of cats and dogs who under went surgery to be fixed. She has worked with various non profits to assist with animal care and other housing needs. She has assisted me personally at times while pet training. She was very good at following orders as well as anticipating my needs and the customers needs duringmy training sessions. She has fostered as well as housed many special needs animals. Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
