What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting since 2021. I have done overnights and drop ins for over 20 households and over 50 kitties.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Lots of communication. I go over your typical routine, find out how I can best meet your cat’s needs and ask questions to make sure I have evening clear. Written instructions are great and so are videos for certain routines, like medications. While you’re away, I communicate a lot the first couple of days to make sure evening is going well and you feel at easy. Once we’re all eased in, I keep you updated on important aspects, and send cute photos and videos.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Cats like to know that they are respected and safe. Giving them their space while they get used to me being in their home is key. I talk to timid and anxious kitties in a sweet, high voice. When I sense curiosity, I’ll approach the kitties and offer my hand for them to smell. If they lean in, I’ll give them soft pets to see if they reciprocate and then I’ll give them pets in places that are common for cats to like until I find the one that wins them over.

She stayed over and kept my house neat, brought in my mail and packages, and kept the litter box clean daily. I received daily pics and videos of my cat, which helped me when I missed him!

Kendra is awesome! We were a little nervous leaving our 2 cats behind for a full week while we traveled overseas, but Kendra took amazing care of them and eased our fears. She was extremely communicative and send daily photos, videos, and updates to let us know how they were doing. One of our cats had a little separation anxiety and was behaving more crankily than usual, but Kendra handled it with patience and grace. We are so grateful for her hard work and will definitely work with her again!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Boise cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
