What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Over thirty years experince in animal care, and I now do this full time. I have worked in pet stores and vet care. Now just living a very animal centered life on a five acre farm while doing animal care for a living.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
The cats. Playing with them and spending time with them. I definitely get along with animals better than most people.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I was watching a home in Florida and they had five cats with very awesome personalities. We spent all day together and did all their favorite things. I had all five of them sleeping with me and following me around all day and night. Eventually their owners moved. I miss them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do! I live on a five acre farm and have a torti named Grandma that I love very much.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Find someone that is not only a cat person, but follows your directions. You know your animals more than anyone else. And they deserve the kind of care you would give them while they are away.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Contact and questioning. Meet and greet or talk on the phone. I pride myself on a true and transparent relationship with all humans I work for.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I always assume every cat want to be curious. Keep my eye on them. Check on them and take precautions to make sure no one bolts a door or gets into things they shouldn’t. The long of the short of it is being observant and diligent.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am available at every holiday. Doing this position full time. I don’t go on holiday. Taking care of cats feels like a holiday. Everyday is an adventure.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I am prolly very old school since I like fuzzy mice and cat nip. I do not understand why cats always drown their mice. It’s hilarious.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I let each cat decide the pace of our relationship. Keeping a calm demeanor and giving quality of care while explaining all I do seems to help.

Kimberly was fantastic! Not only was she a fantastic caregiver for our two babies, but she ended up leaving our house cleaner than she found it when she got there by sweeping and vacuuming and insuring areas were clean and tidy We will absolutely be using her Services again for our next trip. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
