Loving Patient Kitty Care

I'm Victoria

Cat Sitting in Evanston, IL

Hello! My name is Victoria and I specifically excel with shy, timid, and anxious cats, though I love ALL cats.

My calm presence helps cat feel at ease. I earn the trust of shy and anxious kitties, and I am reliable and communicative with pet parents. I enjoy taking care of your babies and spending time with them while you're away. I pride myself on helping you feel at ease while you're away from your baby - it can be hard to trust someone else to care for them, and I take great joy in building a relationship with your pet.

I am a happy cat parent to 3 cats, and I've shared my house with multiple cats at a time for the last 17 years. I'm very observant with pets, and I will care for your pet as an extension of my family...

I pride myself on helping you feel at ease while you're away from your baby - it can be hard to trust someone else to care for them, and I take great joy in building a relationship with your pet.

I am a happy cat parent to 3 cats, and I've shared my house with multiple cats at a time for the last 17 years. I'm very observant with pets, and I will care for your pet as an extension of my family.

I'm very attuned to cat's needs, behaviors, and oddities (both expected and non). I've experienced a wide array of scenarios when it comes to feline health, so I am well-versed in what to watch out for in regards to lack of eating/drinking, urinary blockage, bladder stones etc. I have a keen eye for when cat's change their patterns and behavior, and I let you know immediately if their behavior changes while you are away.

My own cats are such an important part of my life, and I know how difficult it is to leave them and know they are safe and cared for. I do my best to replicate your care and love, sending you pictures and updates while you're away so you can relax knowing that they are well taken care of.

The highest compliment I receive from cat owners during a meet and greet is, "Wow! He/She typically never comes out for strangers. They must feel comfortable around you!" My calm presence puts cats at ease, and I can't wait to get to know your babies.

Learn More About Victoria

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for many years now, and I've been a cat owner (of cats with a variety of health issues) for 17 years. I'm proud to have repeat clients that return to me for cat care, and I truly enjoy returning to see their kitties again when they are away.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always want to meet a new cat parent before they leave and have the opportunity to introduce myself to the cat. During the meeting, we review any health concerns the kitty may have, where food and water dishes are located, as well as the litter boxes. I like to learn about any likes, dislikes, or any particular behavior a new-to-me cat may have. I also When ask where common hiding spots are so that I can be sure to check these spots when I come visit if the kitty may be prone to hiding.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I keep my body language subdued and follow the cat's cues. Some cats are anxious by nature, and some have traumatic histories, so it's important to remain calm and not trigger their flight or flight response. At all times, my goal is ensure the cat does not see me as a threat. Favorite toys or treats can helpful for particularly timid cats while an owner is away.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Evanston cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
