I have to say I am a trendsetter! I think cats teach us empathy, and sometimes being that vulnerable takes courage. I’ve been sharing and learning these secrets to life for sometime now, and it absolutely never gets old! As soon as I had my first place I started fostering, which led me to the catch and release crews. With a history of doing that at different spots across the country as well as working in a major commercial vet clinic and having privately-owned emergency vet hospital experience, I’m ready for all the cuddles and care your fur baby needs.

Learn More About Pepper

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have some house sitting experience and then more than 20 years of experience taking care of pets in shelters, rescues, vets and hospitals.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I like spending time with animals. Cats are so full of personality! They may seem aloof and overly independent to outsiders, but cat lovers know each one of them is a unique being with plenty of cuddle-worthy layers.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I’m sure it will be all of them! I’ve worked with delicate seniors and rambunctious kittens. I’ve never shook a paw I couldn’t say something good about.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do not have any pets right now. My business is mobile, so for now I want to make myself available to others pet families.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Choose someone you trust that will love your pet the way you do. If it works out, use them again and refer them to others. Good help is hard to find.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I ask for details about expectations and medications, if any. I ask if over night is what they are looking for, and whether there is a schedule that I need to adhere to so their pet-family-member stays on track. I ask how long they’ll be away and if they are comfortable receiving videos and pictures. Lastly, I would need a local emergency contact and/or vet info that I can keep on hand.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Gather details from pet parents during the walk throughs by video & refer to it while pet sitting. Also, if there are any notes, I keep those handy, too!

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am usually available during holidays. I do travel for work, but if my schedule is open, then the spot is yours!

What is your favorite cat toy?

It’s fun when cats know how to play fetch. Some of them are really cute with the catnip too! I think it depends on what shows the kitty’s personality best!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Space is always good. I’m an observer myself, so I don’t mind if a cat wants to check me out first. I’m confident I am good company, so eventually, they’ll come around for some pets and cuddles!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Schiller Park cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
