I'm Nicole
Cat Sitting in Wichita, KS
I believe cats are wonderful, intelligent animals and are just as deserving of purposeful care, attention, and enrichment as dogs. My commitment to those I sit for is that I'll care for and love your animals just as I would my own. Happy to hang out with kitties, send picture updates, and work within your cat's... I'm a cat enthusiast with eight years of professional animal care experience and have had my own cats my entire adult life from kittens to seniors.
I believe cats are wonderful, intelligent animals and are just as deserving of purposeful care, attention, and enrichment as dogs. My commitment to those I sit for is that I'll care for and love your animals just as I would my own. Happy to hang out with kitties, send picture updates, and work within your cat's normal schedule to keep them as stress free and happy as possible while you're away.
I understand the stress of choosing a pet sitter and am always happy to chat as much as needed to ensure your cat and I are a great fit! I love care guides and am comfortable with cats from shy to clingy as well as giving medicine.
Happy to give repeat clients an in-app discount! I'm also experienced with dogs and exotics (fish, reptiles, small mammals, birds) if needed.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Medley is a sassy calico who I've known since bottle feeding age and is now thirteen. Murphy is my one orange braincell cuddle bug who appeared on a friend's porch six years ago (while I was cat sitting for her!). Tried to find owners, checked for microchips, then brought him home.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I start by chatting and learning more about the cats and what their typical care and schedule looks like (vet contact, feeding schedule, medications, favorite toys, cat's personality, etc). I always require a meet and greet beforehand to ensure a good fit, see in-person where care items are, and meet the cat while their person is there to build trust.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I start with slow, deliberate movements around the house and doing care tasks while speaking softly. I'll then usually sit on a couch or floor away from the cat and let them approach if they want. When leaving I'll leave treats out (if appropriate) and then repeat the process during the next visit. I've never not managed to get cats to at least say hi with a quick sniff and am usually able to get pets or even a cuddle in by being patient!

Today
Nicole is one of those people who can walk into the home of the grumpiest, most skeptical cat and earn purrs and head bumps before she leaves. She is an attentive, caring, and experienced pet sitter who always puts the needs of the kitty (or dog, or tegu, or spider) first and has a talent for REALLY seeing what those needs are. She follows the kitty's lead and knows how to make sure they feel comfortable. Nicole is the person you call when your cat has a complicated medical need and you don't know who to trust. She's the person you know you can trust to handle an emergency with a level head and with the urgency she would give to her own cats. She's the person my shy kitty hears from her hiding spot and then comes trotting out to greet. She's the cat sitter whose own cats really wish she would stop cat sitting because they love her so freaking much. I have recommended her to other people in the Wichita area for many years, for short-term and long-term sitting gigs, and there isn't a single animal in your house she wouldn't care for like family while you're away.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Wichita cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
