What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

Since April 2022, I have volunteered with Christian County Humane Society at their cattery. I have loved and provided care for many cats during that time. Cat care has included admistering a wide variety of medications to a wide variety of temperaments during that time. I have also been doing in home cat sitting off and on for about 15 years.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Taglio is 10 year old black female with a white tip on her tail. She is named after fictional creature from a song. Nyx is a 3 year old female tortie named after the Greek goddess because her coat is like a night sky speckled with orange stars. Taglio is happiest sleeping on my left hip, eating or inspecting trash cans. Taglio is a love her on her own terms only cat. Nyx is happiest curling up at my feet or on my right shoulder for naps. Nyx always accompanies me to the bathroom in case there are any monsters in the bathroom. She purrs and slow blinks when I hold her like a baby and gently rock her. Sometimes I sing to my cats.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Meeting the animals and pet parents in person a few days ahead of time especially if it's my first time or if there are new circumstances. Taking detailed notes on any special instructions, favorite toys, medical conditions, temperaments, etc I like to lay down or sit on the floor at the cats eye level for introductions. If the cat is unsure of me, I'm happy with whatever level of attention the cat deems acceptable even if it's none.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am available for most holidays. The farthest I might travel on a holiday is about an hour or two from where I live.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Lay down to get to their eye level, give slow blinks in the hopes they become comfortable with me. Maintain a steady, calm energy while in the home.

I've been using Allison to watch my cats for 15yrs. She has helped when my cats were kittens, and with my senior cat. She did very well managing his medical and physical needs, the senior. Anytime Allison is sitting for my cats I know I can relax and not worry about them because she has it taken care of.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
