I believe there’s one thing cats value most: boundaries. I always let the cat set the pace and I adjust — whethe... Hi there! I’m Jing, a Brookline-based cat sitter and shelter volunteer. I’ve loved cats my whole life, so getting paid to “cat-admire,” hand out chin rubs, and share a quiet room with a purring companion feels like a dream job to me.
I believe there’s one thing cats value most: boundaries. I always let the cat set the pace and I adjust — whether they’re shy, playful, or super cuddly. I keep a close eye on eating, drinking, litter box habits, and energy, and I’m comfortable giving oral meds and following specific routines.
You can count on me to treat your cat gently, respect their personality, and send clear updates with photos or videos so you never have to wonder how they’re doing.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Meeting fur babies is always exciting, but also challenging because cats are not creatures to trust easily. I like to understand their character and find out what they like. It will take some time, but it's a rewarding experience. Plus it's very cool to visit other people's homes and see how they decorate them.

This is my second time with Jing, she has always taken the best care of Chowder both with daily routines and giving her love and cuddles while we’re away :) She gives the best update blurbs and great pics so I don’t miss her too much while away. She’s amazing!!

Jing did an amazing job looking after my two cats - she sent updates every day with pictures, responded promptly to any messages and I could tell when I got back that my cats were well taken care of! I hope Jing is available the next time we need another cat sitter!

Perfect performance! Jing showed up as scheduled to introduce herself to me and my two senior cats, in preparation for a 10 day vacation. She understood my instructions and even made an instant friend with one of my guys, who is normally pretty shy. She showed up every day, provided photos, cleaned the food and water bowls, fed the cats, cleaned the litter box, swept up. Over time, the cats warmed up to her as Jing took time to play with the cats and provide cuddles. When I returned home, the cats looked great and perhaps disappointed that it was me opening the door and not Jing. I hope Jing is available the next time I leave the cats for a few days.

We recently added two three-year-old kitties to our home, and this was our first trip away from them. Jing was professional and friendly, clearly knew how to take care of cats, asked great questions, and provided wonderful daily updates. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Brookline cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
