Cat Sitting in Brookline, MA

Hi! If you’re an established client of mine and would like to book on a blacked-out date, shoot me a message and I’ll see what I can do.

Thanks so much for considering me to care for your little pal. I’ve been told I’m one of the Greater Boston Area’s best cat sitters. The dozens of positive reviews you can see here attest to it.

I’m what they call “good with cats.” I respect each little guy’s space and personality, and do my personal best never to bother them (unless they want to be bothered). I’m used to cleaning litter boxes, preparing meals, and engaging with them for quality time.

I also know how to take care of animals with special needs, and will follow any instruction left to the letter...

I also know how to take care of animals with special needs, and will follow any instruction left to the letter. I've got experience with all sorts of medications and inhalers.

I’m happy to work with your cat’s daily rhythms and try to aim my visits for the right times to minimize any disruption. I have a car and am open to traveling (serving Newton, Cambridge, Downtown Boston, Somerville, etc), but I love it when a stay or a visit is in walking distance.

Anyhow! Here’s a little more about me. My origin story is such: back in 2014, my life was changed forever when I met my best friend, a big gray cat named Handles, or as I called him, “the Schman.” I loved him so- he passed away in 2023- and to honor his memory, I decided to join Meowtel to pay his love forward to all of the cats in the Greater Boston Area.

I currently have two pets who brighten up my days: a black-and-white 3 year-old cat named Miss Cleo and a feisty pomeranian known as the "Sweet" Potato (she's anything but).

Learn More About Nick

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

After taking care of cats for friends for a number of years - I think the first time I ever checked in on a little dude solo was probably a decade ago or so - I started sitting with Meowtel in 2024. Since then, I’ve done over 300 sits, and have taken care of all stripes of kitty (including striped ones)!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love it when kitties are happy to see me - the second visit, after they realize that I’m the food dude, most cats typically go nuts.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

This feels like a trick question - every one of my cat sitting reservations is my favorite. That’s the best part: you get to meet so many great little guys, all with their own charms and quirks.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have a little tuxedo cat named Miss Cleo! She’s playful, goofy and incredibly sweet. She has a nice big belly, too (we're working on that).

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I take detailed notes during our conversation and try to learn as much as I can about your cat’s personality and the environment they live in, and I make sure to ask a lot of questions - the better prepared, the better the experience for your little fellow.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

For your cats, I make sure that there’s no trash or debris on the floor, that all doors to any rooms they’re not allowed in are closed, and check to see if any animal intruders have come in - I’ve even filled in the gaps in a window air conditioner when a bird entered an apartment through one! As for the home itself, I double- and triple-check that doors and windows are locked, that security systems work, and that everything feels and seems normal. .

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! I’ll spend either Christmas or Thanksgiving with family, but I’m around for most major holidays. I also don't do a Holiday Surcharge- I don't think it's fair to you.

What is your favorite cat toy?

The Cat Dancer. Nothing else has made a cat as excited (in my experience) - a little bit of wire and cardboard is all you need, apparently.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

With care and respect - I do what I can to make them comfortable but I never force interaction. You've got to respect their boundaries!

Nick is the best cat sitter I have ever worked with on Meowtel, and I highly recommend him. My cat has severe separation anxiety, and whenever I travel, she usually visits the litter box frequently — sometimes around 20 times a day. I recently took a two-week trip with Nick's cat sitting, and for the first time, she stayed stable without any litter box issues. Nick gave my cat so much love and care, and he stayed longer than I asked every day just to comfort her. I never expected this level of genuine cat love from a sitter. I highly recommend Nick!

Nick is awesome! He was incredibly communicative during my long trip, and so generous with his time taking care of my Bug. She was super shy at first, and Nick was patient and chill with her until she came out of her shell. He made sure to keep me informed when Bug had some symptoms and offered to take her to the vet (luckily the symptoms resolved quickly and no vet was needed!) The whole time, I rested so much easier knowing she was in great hands. I’ll definitely be booking again!

I had never used a cat sitter that wasn’t a friend or family member…but with Nick, all of my worries were gone. My cat is 22.5 years old and has lots of meds and needs and Nick didn’t bat an eye. His updates made me feel like I was at home with Bear! I can’t wait for him to sit Bear again, highly recommend.

Nick contientiously took my cat's particular needs into account to tailor his care to make my cat most comfortable. My cat is very anxious and has attachment anxiety. He talked to him out loud because Mylo is most at ease when he feels like there are people around him and made sure to play with his favorite toys since Mylo needs a lot of playtime. I came home to a much less anxious cat than I have with other sitters.

Nick was communicative and did a great job with my cat's insulin injections and somewhat complex feeding routine! I very much appreciated his thorough updates after each session. It was hard leaving Gen for the first overnights since his rediagnosis with diabetes in November, but Nick's competence and reassurance gave me peace of mind!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Brookline cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
