Cat Sitting in Littleton, MA

**PSA - I unfortunately cannot do Overnights anymore because the health of my Dad that I live with has declined significantly, so doing any Overnight visits is unfortunately out of the question for the time being going forward. I am still open for ALL other visit types and durations available! Thank you for your understanding!**

Good day and hello to everyone! My name is Gregory and have absolutely LOVED cats my entire life! Throughout my life we have always had cats, and all have lived into their senior years (sadly most passed away due to various cancers). I can't imagine my life without cats in it! I used to have a wonderful kitty at home, Eros, a grey & white American domestic mediumhair, but he tragically passed away this past Christmas. He was just 2+ years old (vets say it was a blood clot). You'll see 2 kitties in my listed photos. Eros, and my previous beloved kitty, Greggy (a tuxedo domestic shorthair) who sadly passed away in November 2023). I keep the photos of him to honor his memory...

Eros, and my previous beloved kitty, Greggy (a tuxedo domestic shorthair) who sadly passed away in November 2023). I keep the photos of him to honor his memory.

I now have 2 beautiful ginger (orange domestic shorthair tabbies) boys named Tom & Leo who are such a blessing! They both follow me everywhere around the house and are very affectionate! I hope they are with me for their entire life on this Earth!

As your cat sitter, I will do all in my power to help comfort and care for your feline friends, from lovins to playtime to feeding, tending to their litter and addressing any medical needs they might have/require. In the case of any emergency, I will keep in constant contact with you (as well as Meowtel) and make sure your beloved feline friend(s) receive the best care possible at your preferred vet of choice!

As your Sitter, I am more than happy to help administer medications that your kitty requires provided that the kitties are approachable and friendly. If they're going to be skittish and keep their distance from me, it will be difficult to administer the meds that they need.

If we both think it could possibly be difficult to administer the medications that your kitty needs, other arrangements may be necessary (such as having you board said kitty at a recommended shelter/vet clinic, etc). I am currently aware of 4 other Meowtel sitters in my area if things are unable to work out between us that I could recommend.

I will do my best to attend to you and your cat's every need and if and when I have any and all questions, I will be sure to get all information possible during our Meet & Greet. At the end of every visit, I will be sure to keep you updated with a brief report and at least 1 image (likely several) of your beloved feline(s) to help keep your heart at ease.

I do have some experience working in an animal shelter, working at the Drumlin Farm Mass Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in Lincoln, MA tending to the fauna in their care, feeding them, and cleaning out their pens (this was in 2010 for 1 year, it was a wonderful experience).

I have always wanted to be a vet tech working with pets (especially cats), but I don't have the heart to help euthanize clients loved ones. I know it's sometimes necessary, but because of my sensitive nature, it would take an emotional toll on me. It's hard enough dealing with your own personal loss of losing a beloved pet!

Just to give you a bit of personal info about me, I have many passions aside from cats (and animals in general). I also love to be outdoors, especially to go bird watching whilst hiking! It's such a fun & worthwhile hobby! I also love all things sci-fi and fantasy (movies, shows, books, video games), especially Star Wars, Star Trek, Pokémon, and Final Fantasy! I also have a fascination with the weather, especially chasing summer thunderstorms to get the next great bolt of lightning! If I could, I would be an active storm chaser, going after supercell thunderstorms in the Midwest and Plains states to hunt down tornadoes! I like to live just a little dangerously! 😝 Lastly, my biggest single achievement to date, aside from graduating from college in 2003, is achieving the Rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America back in 1999! Alas, I still can't tie knots well though! 🤣

If you have any questions at all for me, please don't hesitate to ask, I am always at your service and if there is something I for some reason cannot readily answer, I will seek out the requisite sources to get the answers we both desire.

Thank you for your time, consideration, and patience! On my honor, your cats will be in very good hands, for I will treat them like they are my very own!

Learn More About Gregory

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting with Meowtel since April of 2023. Prior to I have had cats as pets for decades. Cats are the most precious to me, I can't live my life without them!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Spending one-on-one time with your feline friend, engaging them, giving them attention and affection, marveling in all they do. Cats have the most charismatic personalities. I simply can't get enough of them!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I have this repeat client in Chelmsford (who used to be in Lowell) with 3 cats (a senior kitty & 2 young kittens). These kittens (almost young adults) are so much fun! I often forget how wild and zany young cats can be! They're also very sweet, friendly and affectionate! I revel in the chance to watch over them any chance I can get!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

After Greggy & Eros passed away within the last 2 years, we adopted 2 new sweet Ginger boys named Tom & Leo (bonded brothers). They are so incredibly affectionate and loving, following me everywhere I go at home! I simply cannot get enough of them!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Are they going to give the attention and adoration your fur baby needs while you are away. Will they give you regular updates with photos to show that they're spending quality time with your feline friends? Sure, it ultimately comes down to cost, but it's the quality of service that goes a long way.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

After the Reservation Request has been made, the cat parents and myself work out on getting a Meet & Greet arranged. The Meet & Greet is the perfect opportunity to mete out the details of the visits I will be attending to, going over food/diet, water, litter, toys, likes and dislikes, any medications, how friendly the kitty clients will be, getting the layout of the home where the kitties reside, keys/entry code access, any special instructions. I love meeting new kitty clients and their cat parents, hoping to build a good rapport.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make sure I am gentle and quiet as most cats don't like sudden movements or loud noises. I take the utmost care and approach with the fur babies, letting them sniff my hand before I try to pet them. I understand some cats are just too skittish and shy around strangers so some cats may not make an appearance while I am there visiting. I make sure any lights that are kept on stay on and if I need more lighting, I'll turn such lighting on and off when I am done. I make sure that the house is securely locked when I leave after making sure the kitties are content in their home environs.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes I am, though I try not to overbook myself if I seem it is getting too busy. I don't want to overwhelm myself because our feline friends duly notice a stressed out human and thus it makes them wary of my presence.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Mine are wand toys with either feathers, bells or strings attached to them. I love seeing the kitties go nuts over them. I particularly love it when they apply the kitty death grip to the toy they're menacing!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I am gentle and soft with my approach, letting them sniff my hands, seeing if they'll offer themselves to me for a pet. I won't go chasing after a cat to get it's attention, for I fully understand some cats will want to keep to themselves. I am in their home, invading their territory, so it's on me to be calm and collected with them.

Kind, caring, and genuinely cares! The daily updates were fantastic. One of my cats has diabetes and I was very nervous about making sure he got the right amount of food and the right insulin dosage (syringe!)- Greg had experience with this and I felt very assured, all went great!

Greg did a wonderful job taking care of our 3 cats and home. He was a diligent caretaker, took notes on each cat and their quirks, provided prescription medication to our kitties and did all of the daily feeding and litter box cleansing as requested. We enjoyed the pictures and commentary of his daily interactions with our feline clan. We will definitely ask him back!

Gregory was great to work with — Great intro and great updates all through the busy holiday travel weekend. One of our cats was very shy and we appreciated Gregory checking on them in their hiding spots and reassuring us :)

I originally booked Greg’s services to check on my cats on non-consecutive dates while I was on a trip. I had an emergency just as my trip concluded and I was not able to get home. I asked Greg if I could extend the reservation, and he taught me how to do a modification. He booked the additional dates immediately and made sure my cats were cared for. I even requested that my plants watered only once. Greg went above and beyond. He sent me pics of my lovely cat. I’d reserve Greg again in a heartbeat.

Gregory was quick to respond to our vacation request! He's a great cat manny who gave my brother's cat a lot of affection, sent daily updates & pictures. I heard he may open up a bakery to sell all the bread biscuits these cats are making! Meow!

In the past, I have left my cat for a couple days with food alone with no problem. But he's old enough now that he needs medicine. Seeing Gregory's updates and pictures of my cat gave me such peace of mind while I was away. I will definitely hire Gregory again.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Littleton cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
