Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two beautiful cats! I have an almost one year old longhair orange girl, her name is Bonnibel! I also have a five year old tabby girl named Mordecai! They are both super friendly and sweet natured, I cherish them so much!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
When entering I will be extra careful to get inside and close the door as quickly as possible without startling your cat! I will make sure to keep outdoor doors closed and locked, even when I am in the house! I will clean all bowls and make sure your baby has fresh water as well as litter! Any other specific instructions I will be dedicated to following exactly as asked, and will provide regular updates too!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
For meeting anxious cats, I usually start by sitting quietly on the ground- this helps the cat feel less intimidated! I will then put my finger out for them to sniff, as this is a well known greeting for cats (though they usually use their noses instead of fingers, but it works nonetheless!) if the cat is still very timid and does not want to interact, I will offer a treat, and then give them space! Usually just sitting quietly and not moving too fast will eventually make the cat feel safe enough to be curious. Once it’s dinner time, I’ll try my greeting again! Lots of space, slow movements, and food almost always do the trick! I will do eveything I can to be extremely respectful of their boundaries and try to win them over! I will also try any specific tactics or toys that your cat likes best!

Rita is the best!! She's so friendly, thoughtful, and our 5-year-old tuxie loved her - he was super relaxed, calm, and happy when we came home from our long weekend trip. Rita is communicative, sent lots of photos to keep us updated with how our kitty was doing, and left our apartment in great shape. Highly highly recommend, we would love to have Rita take care of our cat again any time!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
