I have experience with cats with medical concerns, especially thyroid & kidney diseases. I am CPR-trained for cats & dogs, and can administer oral medications, topical ointments, & ear drops. I have experience administering injections in humans, but I'm happy to learn how to do so with animals.
I take health & safety very seriously. I remain updated on all my vaccines, and I hope your cats do, too!
I have a minor allergy to lavender, so I would appreciate if you could let me know ahead of time if you use lavender litter, soap, trash bags, air fresheners, etc. so I can prepare!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I started Meowtel in 2021 as a pandemic side hustle, but I’ve been catsitting for friends and family for 20+ years!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I get along well with cats, and it’s rare to meet one who doesn’t warm up to me (eventually). I enjoy making cats feel safe, and there is nothing better than kitty snuggles! Best feeling in the entire world.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My cat's name is Frankie! He is gray with a white tuxedo on his chest. He's a little anxious, but very sweet and snuggly. He is 3-years-old. I met him when he was 4-weeks-old after my friends found Frankie, his mom, and his 2 siblings on their porch! They were hiding under a tarp to stay dry during a thunderstorm. I helped take care of all 4 cats for a few weeks, and adopted Frankie when he was 3-months-old. My friend adopted Frankie's mom and his siblings were adopted by other friends.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! My family lives in Baltimore, so I usually stay here during the holidays to celebrate with them. I do ask for some timing flexibility on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Easter, so I can plan around my family’s celebrations.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have a lot of experience with anxious cats because I’ve had 2 cats with acute anxiety who needed medication. When I cat sit for an anxious cat, I sit still for at least 15 minutes to allow the cat time to warm up to my smells without making noise or quick movements. I always let cats sniff my hand before I attempt to pet them. I speak in very soft tones. If treats are available, I will either hold them in my hand or put them next to my feet so the cat can feel more comfortable approaching & being physically close to me. I also encourage parents to use pheromone sprays or plug ins. Some cats also respond well to daily gabapentin when their family is away, and I can administer that.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Baltimore cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!

When Marcella had an emergency and needed to reschedule for one visit, she made sure that meowtel found a replacement and kept me in the loop the entire time.
