I've worked in a 24/7 ER vet hospital, I've raised litters and litters of neonatal kittens, and I worked as a vet tech and surgery tech at a feline-only specialty practice for several years... Greetings, cat owner! I'm sure you're anxious about leaving your cat(s), let alone with a stranger. Rest assured, your baby (or babies) will be in good care, as I am a former veterinary technician who is Fear-Free certified and AAFP Cat-Friendly certified, and I am very experienced in gentle and cooperative care. I would be more than happy teach you positive medicating techniques, just ask me!
I've worked in a 24/7 ER vet hospital, I've raised litters and litters of neonatal kittens, and I worked as a vet tech and surgery tech at a feline-only specialty practice for several years. I have a TON of experience caring for seniors as well as other high-needs patients. I am very comfortable medicating cats including giving injections and subcutaneous fluids. I also know how to handle a variety of ailments or emergencies should one arise while you're away.
The Feline hospital where I used to work also emphasized the importance of lifestyle and enrichment as being part of a more complete picture of a cat's health and well-being. My visits with your cat(s) will not just be food, water, and meds, but enrichment, too, be it play or affection.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
At the cat vet i used to work at, we had 2 clinic cats, Davis and Parker. When Parker got old and his medical needs increased, he and Davis retired and went to live with the owner of the practice full time, and I was their pet sitter. I liked to think of sitting for them as visiting my old co-workers. Parker only loved food, but Davis was my buddy, and he'd ask for uppies and chill on my shoulder like old times.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Oh my, so many things. If I'm hiring a sitter, then my bare minimum for my peace of mind, I need to trust the sitter can recognize early if my cat is not eating enough and inform me, they are VERY cautious with the door (my cat is a door-dasher), and that if ANYTHING happens or seems unusual or if the sitter is unsure about something, I have to be able to trust that they would contact me and keep me informed whether or not they know how to handle the situation themself.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, my schedule aligns with most school holidays and breaks. The only holiday that *might* become an obligatory family visit is Christmas day since my birthday is the day after, and my brother's birthday is the following week, but I keep my visits short, so I'll still have availability.

Lee is a wonderful pet sitter. She takes care in following instructions, is great at giving medicine, made some great recommendations for me for my cat's care, and took wonderful care of my cats. She provides detailed updates, asks questions when needed, and took good care of my home as well (even taking out the trash before I got home!). I highly recommend Lee.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Columbia cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
