My name is Ivey, and I've worked with cats my whole life. I'm currently a cat mom Calypso, my 8 year old Diluted Tortie! I adopt my kitties from my local animal shelter, which I've volunteered at for the past 4 years.
Every cat is different in its needs, personality, and behavior. Through my time in volunteering in multiple shelters and being a momma to multiple cats, I've picked up a few tips and tricks! When I catsit, I follow instructions to a T and ask clarifying questions to make sure I'm providing the purrfect service. I like to update with lots of details on the kitties' behavior and how they're doing. Taking multiple pictures of the kitty is a must as well! I absolutely understand the hesitation or concern with leaving your furry fur-iends at home, so I do my best to provide reassurance to pet parents that I'm lucky enough to serve.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy getting to know a cat and earning its trust for me. At the same time, I also like to be a source of reassurance for cat parents. I personally have 2 cats that don't get along and one of them is a senior, so I really appreciate reassurance regarding my kiddos. I really like to be responsible and responsive enough to provide reassurance to all cat parents.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do! I have 2 kitties: Cosmo, my 16 year old Russian blue, and Calypso, my 7 year old Diluted Tortie. I got both from my local animal shelter, where I love to volunteer!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Know what degree of flexibility you're comfortable with. If you want your sitter to follow instructions to a T, don't be afraid to say that! If you're not too picky, be sure to state what's most important to you.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I give anxious kitties their space, so they don't feel like I pose a threat. I'm really observant on their behavior, since that's one of the only ways to pick up on how a cat is feeling. I make a mental note of their ears, whiskers, eyes, stance, and tail (if they have one!). If I do need to move closer to a scared kitty, I move slowly, talk in a calming tone, and try to give slow blinkies as well.

Ivey did an amazing job! We were away when the January 2026 storm hit, and we had one problem after another arranging for our driveway to be cleared. Ivey made the trek through the snow from our neighbor’s driveway to make sure our kitties were fed and received their medicine. She was always responsive as we communicated on the app to make contingency plans. And our cats loved her! Ivey sent comprehensive updates about her visits and followed all instructions. She even brought in our mail. I can’t recommend Ivey enough.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Germantown cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
