What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for about 5 years now. I have cat sit through other apps and have had regular clients and many one off clients. I also cat sit for neighbors and have been doing that for even longer. I have also volunteered with cats in animal shelters over the years.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Make sure you run through all the small quirks and personality of your cat. Cat sitters are here to make the visit as seamless as possible and the best way to prep them for that is to make sure that they have an understanding of what your cat’s routine and likes and dislikes are. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and ask for updates as the cat sitting progresses!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I’ve worked with many anxious cats and the best way I’ve found to work with them is to not push them into situations that make them more stressed. When I have clients with timid cats, I make sure I run through expectations ahead of time. I enter the home quietly and find the cat, usually hiding and send photos so the client knows they’re doing well. I then go do whatever tasks needed, like changing the litter box and food, all while talking softly so they can get used to me being there. Then, I usually sit by the cat at a distance quietly for a while to see if they are curious enough to come out. If they don’t, I continue my visit, visually checking on them, updating the client and then I leave. My philosophy is not push any cats to interact when they don’t want to.

Medha was amazing with my two cats who have been thru a rough transition in the last few months. She has a gentle demeanor and took notes of all the tiny details that we talked about at our Meet & Greet. She was always punctual and detail oriented when she visited. communicated well thru the app to inform when she was coming in, sent pictures of them eating and playing and also when she was leaving our home. Felt very comfortable and reassured every time she visited knowing our kitties were being well taken care of.

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
