I'm Ravin

Cat Sitting in Hyattsville, MD

I have been a loving cat owner for over 17 years. I have successfully raised my first cat ever from 2008 to 2022. He passed away from Osteosarcoma in February 2022. I was taking care of strays from 2013-2019 who would show up at my household and needed food/shelter. I currently am a cat mom to 2 very loving and mischievous Khao Manee cats who constantly keep me on my toes!

I am no stranger to being around or caring for cats. My cat experience began in 2008. I volunteered with Alley Cat Rescue Inc. for 4 years till I graduated high school in 2011. I worked mostly with feral cats and kittens. The duties ranged from kennel cleaning to feeding. My main job was to make sure the cats were socialized enough to be adopted...

My main job was to make sure the cats were socialized enough to be adopted. I would spend 30 minutes to an hour each volunteer session to pet and play with the cats. This helped increase their chances of being adopted. This does not come without risk though. I have had my fair share of scratches, no bites (fingers crossed!)
In 2014, I worked for the Director of Operations of Alley Cat Rescue Inc. as their Program Manager for 4 months. I learned how to operate and manage their TNR Program, Spay and Neuter Program, Merchandise Program, and Adoption Programs. I worked with kittens to seniors. I adopted out 14 cats during my duration there. It was amazing!

Currently working as a Veterinary Technician at a local animal hospital. I obtained my Veterinary Assistant Certification back in 2012. I mostly work with cats, dogs, and exotics. This is where I learned to apply medication orally, topically, and subcutaneously. Overall, I am a well-rounded cat caretaker who loves all cats and animals of different shapes, sizes, and species!

Learn More About Ravin

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

The trust I receive and the bonds I create with the cats and their owners. It is quite rewarding and a good experience to feel.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Meeko or "Meek Meek" and Milo or"Lee Lee". Meeks is 5 and Lee is 4. Both a Khao Manee cats as well as brothers that are 6 months apart.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Meet and greets for me are crucial because it allows me to get a feel for the cat and parents. There is no time limit or limits to questions I will answer for any cat parent. So ask away! I want to learn your routine and understand the special quirks for the cat.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I respect their space. I am in their domain and must respect that they are uncomfortable with me being their. I let the cats come up to me to investigate or find them if I can to make sure they are okay. And leave them alone unless they want to interact. A cats space is sacred and I won't breach it unless I have to. Treats and familiarity are what usually help with these cats learning to trust me.

Ravin is a fantastic cat sitter. She took care of our diabetic cat for a week and took great care in giving her everything she needed to manage her diabetes. Our standoffish cat took to Ravin right away and Ravin ensured that she got the love and attention she craved. In sum, she treated our cat like a queen. We plan to book her again and again!

I messed up and gave Ravin the wrong house key, but didn't discover this until after I arrived at my destination! Ravin really came through for us, picking up our spare key from my friend's house. She went above and beyond to make sure our kitties were taken care of!

we had a great experience with Ravin during a 2-day overnight stay for our 5 cats. They were in good hands with her, she followed our instructions for their care closely, the home was in great shape. And I really appreciated the updates and the multiple photos that allowed me to stay close from afar :)

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Hyattsville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
