What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have owned cats my whole life, and have been cat sitting for friends and family for over 20 years

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love meeting and befriending new kitties, especially when they’re shy at first. Once we’ve gotten to know each other, I love just hanging out with them and playing with their favorite toys with them.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

It’s hard to pick just one! I’ve sat for a lot of fantastic kitties! Some of my favorites have included a fluffy senior boy who loved to be brushed, a black and white kitty who let me hold her like a baby, and two 2-year old tuxedos who took a little time to warm up to me, but were affectionate lap kitties by the end of the reservation.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two wonderful cats of my own, named Dove and Winter. Winter is very social, and loves to meet new people. Dove is more reserved, but she’ll also go right up to a new person and demand their full attention.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

There’s no such thing as too much information! I leave a full page of instructions for caring for my own kitties when I hire a sitter. Anything you think I need to know about your kitties, please share it with me.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

If you’ve never owned cats before, it’s important to remember that all cats are different. It may take some time for the kitty to get adjusted to their new surroundings. Its also important to pay attention to the kitty’s behavior. Sometimes what may seem like bad behavior is actually the kitty trying to tell you something.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Attentiveness is key. Cats love to get into places and things that they aren’t supposed to, and it’s our job to keep them safe and out of trouble.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love crinkle toys, soft toys with catnip inside, jumping fish and bird toys, feather wands, and cat caves with dangling attachments

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I let them come to me. If the cat doesn’t feel comfortable or safe, I don’t want to make things worse. I will happily sit nearby and let them decide if they want to come closer. Treats, used sparingly, also help.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
