My experience as a foster has given me insight into all kinds of feline personalities—from playful kittens to grumpy elders—and even those recovering from medical procedures... Hi! I’m Crystal, a lifelong cat lover, experienced foster mom, and proud cat parent to two wonderful kitties of my own. Over the years, I’ve fostered many cats—especially those who were shy, fearful, or in need of extra patience and care. With time, love, and lots of floor-level bonding, they’ve blossomed into sweet, adoptable companions.
My experience as a foster has given me insight into all kinds of feline personalities—from playful kittens to grumpy elders—and even those recovering from medical procedures. I’m very comfortable administering basic medications, providing enrichment, and offering gentle affection based on your cat’s comfort level.
Whether your kitty is an energetic goofball or a nervous napper, I’ll meet them where they are. My priority is to keep them safe, loved, and stress-free while you’re away. I treat every cat like they’re my own—with patience, kindness, and respect for their unique personality.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
The personalities!! I love walking in and meeting new little unique personalities. I’m also a fan of making friends with those kitties that I’m told are “shy” or “you may not see because they like to hide”. I’m extremely patient and have worked with so many shy or fearful fosters that I can make friends with almost any shy kitty.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My two kitty babies are Persephone (5) and Freddie (3). They are mother and daughter and a bundle of cuteness. You can find them cuddled together on their chair or sleeping in the sunshine that comes through the front door. Freddie is always ready for a Churu treat and Persephone loves a game of fetch with her catnip sushi (yes, she plays fetch!)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Read reviews and ask a lot of questions during the meet and greet. Reading reviews can give you a sense of how past clients have felt about the cat sitter, and sometimes how the cats felt! Asking questions will give you a sense of how the cat sitter will handle situations that may arise. I value clients asking questions. It shows me they really care about their cat(s) and the care they will receive and they want to make sure they have just the right person for the job.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Listening, answering questions, and patience are my top three priorities with a new cat parent. Pet parents (I’m a cat mom of two so I know from experience) can be nervous about leaving their fur babies in the care of a stranger. You are trusting me with your pets care, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. As a cat sitter, I am here to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and ensure you (and your fur babies) have an exceptional experience.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I have two! The first is a mouse that has little beads in it. It’s a great attention getter and it’s the toy that Persephone learned how to play fetch with. The second is a wand toy that is on flexible wire with feathers on the end. It offers more natural movement for chasing and pouncing.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I love working with anxious or timid cats because I can spend time trust building and helping them build their confidence around humans. My youngest cat, Freddie, was extremely timid when we adopted her. With patience, speaking softly, treats in hand, and sitting on the floor all kitties can overcome fearfulness and timidness.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Hyattsville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
