I have around 12 years of experience with cats under my belt. I have 3 cats of my own that live with me currently, and I also grew up with my two childhood cats, who currently live with my dad. I adore cats and they are probably my favorite... Hi I’m Rani!

A little fun fact: my cats are all named after holidays—Jingles, Cupid, Pumpkin, Salem, and Boo.
I have experience with all cat types (shy, cuddly, territorial, anxious, feisty and hyper), as well as most ages. I have had previous experience giving cats oral medication (liquid and broken/crushed pills), topical treatments, ear treatments, and eye treatments.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve had cats since I was 12 years old!! I’ve grown up with them and can confidently say I can understand what most cats mean with their body language, meows, and any other signals they may give.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Some people enjoy meeting other new people, but I enjoy meeting new cats!! Every cat has their own personality and I find it super rewarding getting to know them!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! Jingles is the oldest she is turning 13 this year, she was my first pet and I love her dearly. Cupid is turning 11 this year; he is our timid boy with one singular favorite person. Pumpkin is the first cat I adopted on my own, and he will be 5 this year🥹. Salem I adopted after Pumpkin, and he is also super timid. He has become a lot more confident through the years I’ve had him (so proud). Salem is 3 this year. Boo I adopted in October of last year, and she will be 2 this year. She is the most cuddly baby I’ve met.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes. I normally stay local during holidays. Sometimes I do make plans but am flexible with hours on days needed.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
With paitience!! Sometimes it’s best to just sit nearby and wait for the cat to approach you when they’re comfortable. Always let them smell you before you try to pet them. Try to be quiet and do not chase or corner.

Rani was so amazing with my baby boy! He loved her and she sent photos/videos every visit. He even had a couple accidents and she sweetly cleaned them for me. It was such a relief to know that my baby was taken care of while I was away and was consistently seeing a friendly face. To come home to a clean house that was not overrun by chaos (orange cat mamas understand) was something you can’t put a price tag on. I will definitely be booking Rani again in the future.

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Lutherville Timonium cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
