I’ve been obsessed with cats since I as long as I can remember. My whole life I’ve been around cats and I consider them some of the most amazing little critters to have around as companions.
I’m in college in Portland and am in need of finding work, but I wanted it to be something I can truly enjoy to counteract the time commitment and cat sitting sounds absolutely amazing. Getting to spend time with kitties... Hi, my names Damien.

I’m very in tune with cats and their needs. I understand many kitties can require more calm worlds and subtle attention, some can be more timid and require being left alone, while others can be off the walls and want to play! And I’m here for all their needs!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
When I’m home I have 3 kitties, (and have had many more through my life) Tinky Toes (or just Tinkies), Butter B (Beanie for short) and Tiny Whiney (T-Winslow) they are all very happy friendly kitties and I’ve been told many times my kitties are “unusually friendly” for kitties, but I believe with the right treatment all kitties are inherently social friendly kitties!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
My process would be to initially gather information about your kitty! Name, demeanor, tendencies, needs and after that I would love to hear what kind of routine you as the owner are looking for and how I should be expecting to properly care for your little buddies! I think it is also important to see what kind of schedule I can be on since school has me busy at weird times, I want to be transparent and accommodating.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I understand there are many cats that can be very timid and anxious, especially and particularly around people that intrude on their territory. My main focus would be to be as calm and friendly as possible while being in their space. It’s very important to leave them be and allow them to come to you on their time and convince them you’re a friend with treats and play and all the things they enjoy on their terms.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
