What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy the interactions with the cats and making sure they receive the stimulation, love and care they truly deserve.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have one older cat named Ivy. She’s about 14 years old. I got her when she was around 1 year old from my sister when she moved. She’s a sweet little tux cat who enjoys eating dinner with me.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I would sit on the floor in the same room as the cat and have him or her get used to my sent and presence. If there’s a favorite toy or item he or she finds comfort in I would make sure that’s in the room. I would not force him or her to come out of their hiding spot if that’s where they are residing. I would make sure they have food and water and see if they are willing to eat before I leave.

If there were more than 5 stars for a rating, Emily would get them all! She is just wonderful and both of my cats enjoy when she comes. A week before going on vacation, i had a houseful of visitors coming and going. Hazel was a little nervous, but Cashew just hid under the bed and refused to even come out to eat. I was afraid that he would stay under the bed the entire time i was gone, but Emily worked her magic and both cats were out and about when she came...totally put my mind at ease!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
