What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have officially doing pet sitting for the past two years. I have become the official cat sitter of the veterinary clinic where I work. My fellow coworkers and the veterinarians themselves come to me when they need to go out of town. Most people who work here have animals that need medical care and they know I have the skills and knowledge nessisary to make sure their cats are taken care of properly.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I had to take care of a very LARGE, fluffy cat named Hairy Potter. He would hiss at me any time I looked in his direction. But, truthfully, he was the biggest sweetheart. I had to pill him his daily medication and he would hiss away but be fine when I was done. He never tried to bite or scratch. Then, he would follow me around the house while I was cleaned the litter boxes. If I looked at him, he would hiss... but then keep following me. It was hilarious. He wanted the comoanionship... but not too much! He was so adorable.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am! I have a large family that usually celebrates events on odd dates so I'm generally an open book for holidays! From Christmas to Fourth of July, Thanksgiving to Easter. I know many people like to travel, so I would love to watch the adorable cats!

Demi was dedicated to help me take care of Queenie & GT (Goldie Terror) The weather was Horrible and she managed to make her times walking through snow! She helped feeding and pooper scoop. I had surgery and couldn’t move or bend over. Plus she works at a veterinary and that really helped with her professional advise Thank you Demi I will definitely be calling you for assistance when needed again.

Demi is great - super communicative and so caring for our cat. We have a shy girl and Demi went out of her way to make sure she tracked her down in her hiding spot to say hi and make sure she looked ok. Demi kept everything so clean and followed instructions so well. She sent pics and confirmed everything was going according to plan. Even though we don’t have our diabetic boy anymore (who Demi took amazing care of), we’re thrilled to continue having Demi care for our bb girl.

Demi is awesome. She is clearly very experienced with all types of cats and medical needs. Our boy has diabetes and is on twice daily injections and she handled him so well. He is a little finicky and can be a little grumpy, and she didn’t mind at all when he hissed at her and managed to give him his shot without any issue. We’ve been so nervous about finding a capable and kind sitter, and Demi totally fits the bill. She was very communicative during the visit, which is greatly appreciated. We are hoping to have her be our regular sitter moving forward!

Demi was an excellent cat sitter. She was attentive, caring, and clearly took the time to understand each of our cats’ personalities. We especially appreciated the daily updates, which included photos and videos—it gave us real peace of mind while we were away. What stood out the most was how she connected with our shyest cat, who normally hides whenever someone new is around. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Livonia cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
