Our family experience includes successfully socializing a rescued cat that my oldest daughter adopted. This process was challenging but incredibly rewarding, and it taught us a lot about patience and understanding the unique needs of different cats. In addition to our cats, we also have a Pomsky named Prince, who adds to the lively and loving atmosphere of our home.
My affection for cats started early in my life... I'm the perfect cat sitter because I absolutely adore cats! I have two wonderful cats of my own, Raven and T'Challa, who are the heart of my home. My love for cats is complemented by my daughter's passion for cats; she is always immersing herself in documentaries about feline behavior, which has significantly expanded my knowledge about our furry friends.

My affection for cats started early in my life. As a child, I found them to be captivating creatures, full of mystery and elegance. Although I couldn't have pets when I was young, I made up for it during my teenage years when I adopted my first cat, Shadow. Shadow was my loyal companion for 17 years, and his presence further deepened my connection with cats.
As a responsible individual, I take the care of cats very seriously. I understand the importance of maintaining their routines and ensuring they stay engaged and happy. Being a cat owner myself, I am attuned to their moods and behaviors, and I know how essential it is to keep them stimulated to support their emotional well-being.

Be specific as possible. If someone was watching my fur-babies I would right down everything I want them to know, including does and don'ts.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
By following the pet parent's directions and making sure the cats are where they are suppose to be.
Are you usually available during holidays?
It depends. If needed and available I can work holidays.

Electronic cat laser toy that sits on a table and switches the direction of the beam automatically.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Sit quietly at their level and wait for them to come to you.

Crystal is very knowledgeable about cats, especially in caring for one of our cats who has CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) and has stayed overnight. She is very attentive, pays attention to details, and provides us with timely daily updates and pictures of our babies. I would highly recommend Crystal to anybody! My wife and I went out of town for a camping trip and used Meowtel for the first time. We sent a request to Crystal and she got back to us right away. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND and I cannot recommend her enough. You can tell she really loves cats. She sent us a detailed summery of how the each visit went and included pics, she brought her own toys, she spent time with the cats, and she swept and cleaned the litter box. We were so impressed that I also posted in my neighborhood page. 10/10 I recommend Crystal. We will be using her again!

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Oak Park cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
