Over the years I’ve learned that every cat is different, some want play and at... Hi there! I’ve been a cat mom for over 20 years and currently have two cats of my own. I know how stressful it can feel to leave your cat with someone new, so I don’t take that trust lightly.
Over the years I’ve learned that every cat is different, some want play and attention, others just prefer a calm presence. I’m happy to follow whatever routine your cat is used to, keep litter boxes clean, refresh food and water, and make sure they feel comfortable while you’re away.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been a cat mom for over 20 years and currently care for two cats of my own. While I’m newer to formal cat sitting through a platform, caring for cats has been part of my everyday life for decades. I’m very familiar with feeding routines, litter care, enrichment, and understanding that every cat has a different personality and comfort level. I’ve also cat sat for family and friends over the years and have experience fostering, which has helped me learn how to support cats through transitions and new environments. Living with cats long-term has taught me how important consistency, patience, and calm energy are when caring for them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two orange boys, Barney and Gibby. They’re both 4 years old and very affectionate and full of personality.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to start with a clear understanding of your cat’s routine, feeding schedule, favorite spots, personality, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. During visits, I follow instructions closely, keep litter boxes clean, refresh food and water, and spend time with your cat based on their comfort level. I always send updates and photos so you know how things are going.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I follow all instructions carefully, make sure doors are secure, and am always mindful of preventing escapes. If I notice anything concerning, I contact the owner right away.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I don’t force interaction. I let timid cats set the pace and focus on creating a calm, predictable environment. Sometimes that means sitting quietly in the room, speaking softly, and allowing them to approach when they’re ready. Respecting their space usually builds trust over time.

My cat sitter fell through the night before I was leaving for the weekend. christal replied close to immediately. It was late notice as well as instructions that were lacking. She jumped right in with no hang ups. My boys were well taken care of and played with. Christal is now my go to for keeping Max and Sebastian.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Kansas City cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
