What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been a cat owner for my whole adult life and have 20+ years of hands-on experience caring for cats. I have extensive experience with special-needs and medically complex cats, specialty breeds like Persians, Exotics, and Sphynx, and managing medications and specialized care routines. I am very patient with them and understand their language like it’s my own. My clients have always considered me their safest option due to my big heart combined with grounded, real-life experience.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Cats are my favorite beasties of them all. I love being present with them, reading their energy, and creating a space where they feel safe and loved. Every cat has their own personality and needs, and I genuinely enjoy honoring that.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

It was on an olive orchard in California. There were three adorable indoor/outdoor cats that were clearly living the life. We enjoyed sunsets together and morning meditations. They each had their own little territory out in the garden that they would show me and invite me into their world.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have had three beloved cats throughout my life and currently I belong to Mr. Pewter Pan, an exotic longhair cat with the sweetest face you’ve ever seen. He’s my best buddy and when I’ll be looking after your babies, he’ll be in my husbands care!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would say to trust their experience, but most importantly trust your gut instincts first. Always meet them in person and pay close attention to how they interact with your cat. If they seem to be truly interested or caring towards your pet and ask a lot of questions, then that’s a likely an indicator that they’ll do a great job.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Safety is my number one priority. As a cat parent who’s had indoor-exclusive babies for years, I take extremely serious precautions when I go in and out of the house. So much so as to have notes to remember to check their whereabouts before leaving the house. I always take note of their location and any open windows or doors. It’s almost and OCD-level trait I have.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love using the cat fishing rod with option for multiple attachments. It makes them go wild and there’s a lot of room for creativity. My cat Pewter has had every kind of toy and it’s the only one he’s consistently played with for years.
