I'm Sarah
Cat Sitting in Saint Louis, MO
I provide drop-in visits in my clients’ homes... Hi, I’m Sarah! I’ve cared for cats my whole life—from kittens to seniors—and I share my home with a sweet 9-year-old cat. I understand that every cat has their own personality, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether that means playtime, pets and cuddles, or simply sitting together in their favorite spot, I’ll meet your cat where they’re at. During drop-in visits, I spend at least 30 minutes making sure your pet has everything they need and plenty of attention. Every visit is a chance to give cats the care and companionship they deserve.
I provide drop-in visits in my clients’ homes. Each visit lasts at least 30 minutes and is focused on making sure your cat has fresh food, water, and a clean litter box. I also spend time with them based on their needs—whether that’s playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company. My goal is to keep their routine consistent so they feel safe and cared for while you’re away.
I tailor activities to each cat’s personality. For playful cats, that might mean interactive toys or chasing a string. For more relaxed cats, I’ll give them pets, cuddles, or just sit with them so they feel comfortable. My goal is to match their energy and make sure they feel cared for and engaged.
It’s important for me to know your cat’s routine, feeding schedule, litter box needs, and any medical conditions or medications. I also like to know about their personality—whether they’re shy, playful, cuddly, need space, favorite toys, pet peeves (lol)—so I can make them feel as comfortable as possible.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been taking care of cats my entire life! I grew up with 4 family cats and was responsible for their care from age 12 onwards. I currently live with my own cat (9 years old) who I’ve had the privilege of taking care of for the past 7 years. I’ve been professionally pet sitting for 4 months and have taken care of 18 different cats from kittens to seniors with various energy levels and temperaments. I handle feeding, litter box care, playtime, communication with pet parents, and medication administration if needed. I’ve maintained a 5 star rating on Rover with positive reviews from all clients. I also work with cats every weekday volunteering at the Missouri Animal Protective Agency.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have one cat of my own named Shake! She came into my life when a previous roommate could no longer take care of her, and we’ve been together ever since. She’s my baby and best friend and I’m grateful every single day to be her guardian.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When starting or building a relationship with any cat, I always let them lead the way. With particularly timid or anxious cats, I take extra care to move slowly, speak softly, and avoid making any loud noises when I’m around them. Whenever I start a visit I’ll verbally say hello and offer a hand to sniff if they seem interested, then go about my business without pressuring them to interact more. I speak out loud during visits (even if they’re hiding) so they get more comfortable with my voice and presence, and let things go from there. I’m very familiar with feline body language and pay close attention to physical, behavioral, and vocal cues in all interactions to determine how they’re feeling and what they’re comfortable with. I also definitely utilize treats as a way to build rapport.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
