What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Iv been cat sitting for 4 years. When cat sitting I like to spend some time playing and iv had cats eventually let me brush them.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy being with cats. They are so funny and interesting to me. I like learning their personalities. They can even learn tricks. So smart but you've got earn their trust.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I was cat sitting for my friend and the house keeper accidentally let two cats out. I went searching for them with treats. The first one. Her name is Safires, I caught up to down the alley and I was able to coals her over and pick her up. The other cat, his name is Tony, was running under the neighbors deck. I put a pile of treats in front of the door. Then got behind where he was and shewed him toward home. After a few back and forth anticks I was able to get him in front of the door to eat treats and rushed him in. I was exhausted but at least they where safe and I was glad. They get fed and powered as it's if nothing had ever happened.. LOL
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have one cat. His name is Senchae. He's a flame point Siamese. He's very independent and a finicky eater. He loves being brushed and often rubs against me as cats like to do. 😺
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I will call the cat or cats first.. then put out food. If they aren't coming out. I will then pick a place to sit where they won't see me directly. Wait for them to come out. If they are scared of me I will speak calmly to them. Do my chores and leave. Then try again next time.

Cat mufasa is normally shy of new acquaintances, but he took to Diane right away. I could always relax knowing that Diane was looking after him. Her experience working at the pet store gave her a depth of knowledge to handle any situation that might come up. She always came by when she said she would and not only took care of the basics, but brought personal warmth that I knew mufasa enjoyed and trusted.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
