What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been a cat owner nearly my entire life and cat sitting since I was 12 for friends, family, coworkers, and referrals. I have also been a petsitter privately and on other apps on and off for years and have cared for many cats.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy making cats feel comfortable, safe, cared for, and loved. Cats all have unique personalities and needs, and I enjoy observing and learning about what a specific cat likes and doesn’t like as far as attention, toys, petting, etc.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three cats currently. Sheba is a 14 year old beauty, and she is thankfully in great health. Taz and Buttonz are both 2.5. I found these boys outside together as kittens at approximately 3 and 5 weeks old. I fed them for a week or two until I was able to capture them. They couldn’t be more different, but they are deeply bonded and love each other so much!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I prefer to meet in-person prior to your travel. This allows everyone a get a chance to get acquainted, go over care instructions, discuss expectations, and ensure I can access your space (test keys/codes).
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I am extremely detail-oriented, and safety is my highest priority. I will pay close attention to all instructions for care, kitty’s body language, and generally am observant of my environment. I will be sure to enter and exit carefully, locking up behind me each time. I will also communicate any concerns I have right away, especially if something seems off or different from the meet & greet.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I enjoy traveling myself, but generally avoid traveling for holidays. I am usually around for most holidays and make my own schedule.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I know that with anxious or timid cats, moving slowly, speaking softly, and generally giving them some space and avoiding too much attention is best. I often bring a book and just sit quietly, occasionally talking to myself or kitty to try and show them it’s a calm, safe environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
