My professional background is in child care, where trustworthiness, responsibility, communication and attentive caregiving are essential. I worked with babies and children for decades and now that my own children are grown, I am ready to apply my caregiving skills to cat-sitting. I have worked for several families already, and now that I am moving away from child care I hope to be of service in this area much more often. I look forward to meeting you and your lovely cats!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy everything about it! I have almost always had at least one cat in my life for my whole life and my love of them grows deeper every day. Aside from my kids, cats are my greatest passion and I want to serve them any way I can.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am typically available during the holidays. I tend to stay in town, and my children and I celebrate in a low-key manner at home for the most part.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have gotten quite a bit of experience with anxious cats in the rescue I volunteer for, so I feel fairly confident in handling these situations. Cats seem to sense my patience and calm as well, so that helps. I worked for a client who had several cats and one of them always hid under the bed for visitors- I ended up befriending her after just a few visits!

Dawn has watched over my cats multiple times throughout the years and has always done a stellar job. She gives them just as much attention and care as I would and always makes sure to send pictures and updates! I know I don't have to worry about them being fed properly or worry about the litter boxes because she does things the exact way I ask. Dawn loves my cats just as much as I do! I know they love and adore her as well! She is a wonderful and attentive sitter who will love and care for your kitties so you won't have to worry while you're out of town or on vacation. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Asheville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
