What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
It genuinely delights me to connect with animals. Getting to know each cat and their individual personalities, quirks, likes, dislikes, wants, and needs brings me the joy of getting to know a new friend. It lights me up to see a cat get comfortable with my presence. There’s little I treasure more than bonding with loving furry companions - they are a gift that keeps on giving with their adorable and often funny ways of showing their personalities and their affection.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I would say to pay attention to how communicative your prospective sitter is with you and how present they are with your pet. When I am seeking to find if someone is trustworthy, I want to see evidence that they are a reliable and responsive communicator who will ask questions if they need to and provide updates regularly, and that they are grounded and attentive to their surroundings and environment and therefore to the pets they work with.
Are you usually available during holidays?
As a massage therapist and in home pet sitter, I have some fixed work shifts as well as some flexibility to adapt to variable schedules, and am often available during most holidays. Cats are the best company!

Laura did an amazing job with our cat, Sally! It was our first time leaving her alone since she was adopted from the shelter and she has been hesitant around other people. Within a few days Laura was able to get Sally to play with her. Laura did a great job of respecting Sally's space and letting Sally trust her! We will 100% use Laura in the future with our pets. I am confident that she will follow the animal's cues and build a trusting relationship with them. I know my animals will be safe and cared for with Laura.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Asheville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
