What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy the process of building trust with a new cat and watching them get more and more comfortable with me over time. I also like discovering each cat’s unique characteristics and traits- sometimes it’s like a treasure hunt and feels like solving mysteries. I love it!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite was for my first non-family, non-friend client I found on care.com. The owner lived in an adorable studio apartment, and when we met for a meet and greet, we talked for hours (including gushing over our own silly kitties). This was the most cuddly cat ever once I got to know her over a few weeks, and she would practically smother me! The cat loved her-what I like to call-“supervised porch time” on the balcony, and I always hung around longer than intended. I loved that I was able to provide the owner with peace of mind through daily updates while she was out of the country for a month.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

As soon as I enter the residence, I make sure to lock the door behind me right away. I do not disclose to others where I am cat sitting. I’m also a big fan of writing instructions and other important info in pen and paper, and take pictures of it, just so I am covered. I make sure the house is left as I find it, as I know some cats can get into things or eat things they shouldn’t. Communication is super important to me, so if something feels off in terms of home security, I would let the owners know right away.

Danielle did a wonderful job with our cats over an extended holiday weekend trip. The cats took to her immediately upon meeting her - they could tell she is a cat person I think! - and seemed to have a great time visiting with her and playing while we were gone. We appreciated the daily updates and her thoroughness with the details of our routine, as well as her willingness to be flexible with a last minute date shift and some additional needs like dealing with packages that accidentally came while we were away. We will definitely be hiring Danielle again!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.
