I have a 15 year old tuxedo gentleman, who has had special diets and medicine needs (transdermal, syringe, pills) so I have experience in keeping kitties healthy and happy. I have another 4 year old black kitty who is a bundle of energy and cuddles. I cat sit routinely for four different friends throughout the year - and I am eager to help others keep their cats happy, safe and healthy :)

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy learning about the unique needs and quirks of the cats and building trust over time. I never take it personally if a cat is super nervous with me the first few times, and when they do start to open up and give you signs of trust - that is the most gratifying feeling. It’s also equally gratifying to assure the cat parent that their baby is happy, safe, healthy and ideally just chilling in a sunbeam.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I cat sit for multiple friends, and they all have cute and silly cats! One friend has a cat, Bo. I was checking on him for a few days and noticed he didn’t meet me at the door one day. I searched high and lo (always a panick!) and finally found him under their bed. I also noticed that their fire alarm battery was dying so it was giving that annoying beeping sound. I put two and two together and double checked with my friend - she said yep, he is terrified of the beeping sound. So poor baby had been hiding, but I was able to fix the alarm and Bo was back to being happy and silly in no time.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
For a timid cat, I approach or enter the area that they are in as lightly and calmly as possible. I use soothing tones in my voice and give them space to see if they come towards me. If they don’t come towards me, I would not push it but rather go about other tasks needed to do (checking water, food, litter) while being quiet and calm. I would offer a treat or a a dangly cat toy from a distance, trying to be calm and encouraging. If they were brave enough to come to over to me, I would offer a finger to sniff but not go right into a head scritch until I can sense they are ready. I would really try to pay attention to their energy and give them time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
