What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been helping friends with cats for most of my adult life and many of them have referred to me to others.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love animals of all kinds, but cats have always been my favorite. I love getting to meet new cats and earning their trust and love.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My son and I have 3 cats, both female, and both shown in the pictures. "Skia" is the grey sweetie we wanted to name her "Shadow" but we already have a leopard gecko with that name, so we used the Greek word for Shadow. The other is "Nafty"; her name from the shelter was Nautilus. The Greek word for Nautilus is Naftilos, so we shortened it.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I have shared custody of my son, which means I often can only travel for either Christmas or Thanksgiving(not both) so I am typically available.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My own cats love a good fishing pole toy. We also have a gizmo thst randomly, haphazardly move a dot around on the floor.

John is a true cat lover! I was a little worried, this being the first time leaving my 3 cats with a stranger. John listened to all our requests, sent us daily update pics, and communicated when he was unsure about things. Even our very shy cat ended up opening up to him. When we came back home, they looked happy and healthy. I would trust John with my cats again!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Raleigh cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
