I'm a communicative, caring, and responsible gal in my 30's and--as a cat mom myself--here to give the same quality of love I'd want my fur-baby to receive in my... Hello! I'm Michelle---a long time fan of Meowtel's sitter services, and an ardent cat-lover since I was a little girl (yes, I was the "cat kid"). 😽 Our family always had cats (mostly tabby boys) of all ages, and now I'm the overjoyed owner and bff of Ted, a wonderful 15-year-old rescue boy!
For years, I have helped friends out with their pets---giving medication, cuddles, and occasionally staying over with the ones who need some extra TLC. I'm a communicative, caring, and responsible gal in my 30's and--as a cat mom myself--here to give the same quality of love I'd want my fur-baby to receive in my absence!
In 2015, I volunteered at Safe Haven Cat Shelter in Raleigh (where I adopted Ted) and learned extra tips and tricks for special-needs, injured, and extra shy cats. I feel confident with all temperaments and know that all cats are individuals with unique personalities and needs.
In my daily life, I have a flexible marketing job, so my early mornings, evenings, and weekends are all available.
When not spending time with cats, I am an avid musician, writer, and local classical actor, with a great love of Shakespeare and literature. Having lived in the "Triangle" area of NC (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) for over a decade, I'm familiar with local neighborhoods and landmarks, and glad to travel to meet you and your cat family.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love meeting new cat friends and chatting it up with fellow pet parents! We all have so many stories about our fur-babies, so I adore learning more about each cat's personality (and I'm a big sucker for silly meows.)
What is your favorite cat toy?
My cat, Ted, is obsessed with catnip-filled toy squirrels. I have a small menagerie for him which--quite often--find their way under pieces of furniture. ;)
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
It's so important to let cats show you the speed they need! Some are very loving and chatty, but the shy ones often prefer to get used to a new person's presence incrementally. I make sure I speak aloud often so they get used to my presence, and if they want to come investigate, I never push the issue, but allow them to approach as much as their comfort and willingness allow. 😺

Michelle took such good care of our babies! Our of them is a spicy mama and Michelle was able to read her body language from day 1 and slowly ease in to her good graces. That cat is known to swat at people, but by the end of our reservation, Michelle had her laying in her lap! She also takes stellar pictures and gives really great updates at the end of every visit!

My gang of cats is pretty high maintenance but Michelle handeled them like a champ! I have four extremely food motivated kitties (who act like they’ve never eaten before at every meal time) and one of them who requires daily medications, and at the time of her visit, different food as well. Michelle paid extra attention to my shy guy Cayman and made sure he was able to eat his food without being bullied by others and spent extra time befriending him. I loved getting her updates and pictures at the end of every visit!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Raleigh cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Michelle is AMAZING. One of my old guys has to take 5 pills a day and it’s even a struggle for me. Michelle pills him no problem, which is a very rare skill! she is patient and caring, gives him breaks so he doesn’t get too upset, and is just generally gentle and kind. Michelle is my top choice for house sits!

Michelle was fantastic. She was able to administer medication for my cat that doesn’t easily trust others touching him, and he warmed up to her fast. She spent time playing and getting to know both cats, she followed instructions and made sure both babies were happy. She also gave detailed reports and sent adorable photos. Michelle was a truly amazing pet sitter. From the moment we had our first meet and greet, I knew she'd so a wonderful job taking care of our cat, Fig, while we were away on a two-week trip. Fig is an incredibly shy cat and often hides from pet sitters, sometimes even hissing at them when she's scared. So when we're away for a long time, we always feel bad that Fig doesn't get much human interaction. But, as opposed to many pet sitters we've used in the past, Michelle is a cat lover and a shy cat expert. She visited Fig every day while we were away and talked sweetly to her, never forcing Fig to interact more than she was comfortable. Because of that, Fig never seemed to hide while Michelle was there. We got daily updates from Michelle with wonderful photos of Fig and plenty of details letting us know she was healthy and happy while we were away. She always made sure her water bowls were full of fresh water, monitored her food intake and adjusted accordingly (per our instructions), kept the litter clean, and even treated Fig to catnip, which she loves. We never worried about our cat while on our trip. Michelle was reliable, friendly, and great with cats and we'd absolutely use her again next time we're away.

Michelle is amazing! We have some really shy kitties - Michelle was so sensitive to their needs and made sure that everyone got love and attention in the way they prefer to receive it. She went totally above and beyond keeping the space clean, and her updates were amazing. I have some new favorite photos of my crew thanks to her! She was flexible with updates to our (admittedly convoluted) feeding process and made sure everyone was happy and had what they needed. I get so anxious about leaving the cats, especially because we're merging households and doing a staggered introduction process. Michelle managed everything flawlessly and I am so grateful to her!

Michelle was awesome. This was my first time hiring a catsitter, so I made a lot of mistakes, but she stuck with it the whole way through! I even left the wrong key but mistake, but she worked with me to get a spare from the office, no problem! She did everything perfectly, sent great pictures, and even spent extra time with my cat if she needed more playtime. I would definitely say she went above and beyond, and prioritized the well being of my cat.

She stayed extra time during the introductory visit to make sure all the details were set (confirming keys to apartment doors, finding both cat’s favorite toys, etc) & she sent so many cute photos throughout her visits! Michelle was awesome! We recently moved to the area and this is the first time we have left our kitties with anyone. From the first time we met Michelle during the meet-and-greet, we knew she would be the perfect person to entrust with our furry family members. Michelle did such an amazing job taking care of my cats!! She did everything I asked as well as went above and beyond making sure I came back to a tidy home.
